I am not good at style and beauty. I barely manage to get my hair cut, eyebrows done etc.

However, as I was getting ready for a rare night out last night, I noticed the fine hairs on my upper lip were darker and possibly linger than before.

What can i do? What best for someone like me sho just isn't "in" to this stuff?

Wax facial strips.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 22/04/2023 19:50

I use one of those JML rotary shaver things, from Boots.

Seainasive · 22/04/2023 20:31

I got mine threaded today 😪

much better results than shaving so worth the tears.

ModerationInEverything · 22/04/2023 21:25

If you already go to get your eyebrows waxed, get it done at the same time.

KleineDracheKokosnuss · 22/04/2023 21:29

I have one of the small epilators for face and bikini line. Works well - just a quick once over twice a week to catch any strays.

Squiblet · 22/04/2023 21:38

Or facial depilatory creams - less painful than waxing.

Thepossibility · 22/04/2023 21:44

I just use a razor in the shower. A seperate one from my body hair one.
I'm a trained beauty therapist so NO it doesn't grow back thicker or more dense. I can't wax anymore because I use strong actives (acids, retinol etc)on my face.
You can use one of the dermaplaning things on it but I can't be bothered with that.
I also do my sideburns as well. Easy.
Once a week job.

Bemyclementine · 22/04/2023 21:48

I prefer to have eyebrows threaded, I saw prefer....its a better result, but faaaaar more painful. I'm not sure I could cope with that!

I've been getting laser and it's amazing, I got to laser clinics and its SO much more affordable than I thought it would be, I've been paying £17.50 for my half face and the results have been life changing. I used to shave before but this is so much better.

Inkyblue123 · 22/04/2023 21:56

wax strips at home

TheChosenTwo · 22/04/2023 21:58

I tend to just pluck what I refer to as my walrus hairs 😂 once a month or so when I do my eyebrows. I get 4 or 5 fair hairs at the corners of my top lip, sting like a bitch plucking them out and makes my top lip feel a bit numb for some reason but it takes about 30 seconds so I just tough it out!

I get my moustache waxed and chin threaded - not too painful and then any tiny hairs after wax are also threaded.
Threading of moustache is super painful unless you get it done really frequently.

This! I get top lip, chin, eyebrows and everything waxed every few weeks.

Definitely worth it !

Philips Lumea, or professional laser every time.

howrudeforme · 25/04/2023 20:29

Philips lumea.have a dark tash (ethnic background and PCOS). Kept bleaching until my kid said I’d dyed it platinum blonde (too light).

lumea sorted it almost immediately and I haven’t had any regrowth for over a year. Same with my horribly legs, pits etc.
