Suit to wedding

If I (female) wear a silk coloured (pastel pink/yellow/blue most likely) suit to a wedding, what would I wear under it? Nothing? A camisole? A nice top? I don't want to ruin the neckline of the suit but I'm also worried about overheating.

Silky sleeveless top that's decent enough on its own if you take the jacket off for dancing. You could go for a similar colour as the suit, but not exact match, or add a pattern. You could do a bow blouse as well (not my style, but lots of people look nice in them).

It's a bit of a cliché but a sleeveless waistcoat (thinks - is there any other kind??) ideally in the same material failing that cream.

On websites they are often styled with nothing but it looks a bit forgot to put anything else on and I don't think it's practical for a whole day at a wedding.

Depends on the shape and style of the suit. Can you give us an indication?

I was thinking something like this

It's a nice suit. I like it. I think you need something under it, if for no other reason than when you sit down to eat you're likely to undo the buttons. A sleeveless or short sleeved very plain, silk blouse would do, in cream or white.

My DD wore a very similar suit like that to a wedding. It was lilac and she wore a cream shell top underneath so she could remove the jacket for dancing.

wearing nothing would be too much of a risk for me - if you get too warm you can't do anything! I think a pretty silky camisole would be lovely and if you go for a fairly low-cut v neck then it wouldn't be very visible with the jacket on
