Bumpy, sore, red, dry skin on my face

Need some help with the skin on my face!!
It’s always dry, blotchy red. Its bumpy, not spotty. It also gets quite sore and itchy every couple of days.
Does anyone else have similar and can recommend anything at all?!

Yes I have the same! Total nightmare. Mine is caused by a reaction to topical steroids for psoriasis which is annoying.

What I find helps is keeping my skin really really hydrated with my skincare routine. So I use a cleansing balm to remove makeup and then a really creamy (no sulphites or anything foamy) cream cleaner afterwards.

Then skincare wise I use La Roche Posay cicaplast baume- this is so calming and hydrating. I avoid all acids/retinoids and in the morning use a light facial oil (currently using Zelens Oil 22. And a good sunscreen.

When it’s calmed down a bit I then add in more anti aging stuff like bakuchiol serum and a gentle-ish acid toner and generally that works. If I have a flare up again I go right back to basics.

Don’t use any soap/let your shampoo etc run onto your face in the shower.

Yours may be eczema related, but I highly suggest never using steroids as they clear it up initially and then make it 100 times worse when you stop using them. Even the very low steroid content ones.

Might be rosacea. I needed 3 month antibiotics to get rid. Unfortunately the doctor will go through a whole rigmarole of topical steroids that you know won't work first.

LRP Cicaplast will cure all that ails you.

Have a look at what you're eating on the days your skin flares up and do a test to see if eliminating certain things helps. Biggest culprits for itchy bumpy skin are peanuts, wheat, eggs, cow's milk, soy and shellfish
