Does anyone use lipstick as blusher?

And if so, how do you apply it?

I have tried and failed to find a cream blusher I like but it occurred to me earlier I have lipsticks in every shade imaginable.

I've got a creamy stick that's a lip and cheek product. It's nice and gives a soft finish.

Tried it this morning... I chose a lip colour that's quite natural on me and I'm pleased with it. The only thing I would say is it's much harder to blend than I imagined.

Any tips?

Put it on the back of your hand, Warm it up with your fingers than apply.

Any tips?

Either tap your ring fingers on the lipstick, then tap across your cheeks, or tap the lipstick on your cheek and tap tap tap to blend.

The pigment is more intense so a little goes a long way.

Yep, it won't be as soft as cream blush, so you need to work harder on it. You can always put a little bit and then build it up.

Cream blusher? Never actually heard of this! Any reason you don't use a powdered one with a brush?

I agree- I wouldn't use the same lipstick as a blusher at the same time. I'd assume you use your finger on the lipstick and try to rub it over your cheek to spread it around?

Powder blush is the first thing to come off when wearing make up all day.
You can layer cream blush and set it with a powder to make it last. I do this

OP you can use lipstick. I use the 'made by Mitchell Blursh' which can be used on the lips, cheeks and eyes.

Make sure you apply with a damp beauty blender and a little goes a long way.

Warm up the product on the back of your hand before applying (this goes for lipsticks too. Makes a more even application)

I have. Works well. Just dot it on cheeks and blend in with fingers or brush if you prefer. If you wear powder it goes over the top.

Yes, this is what I do.

Not really sure why, but it seems to work for me

LivingDeadGirlUK · 21/04/2023 14:18

If your worried about hygiene just wipe the lipstick with a clean tissue between uses. With lipstick being oil based any bacteria sits on the surface rather than penetrating the product.

If you put a bit of the back of your hand and sort of warm it up with your fingertips it can spread more easily.

Kind of because I use Trinny Lip 2 Cheek.

I do,I also sometimes use it as eyeshadow too( sounds repulsive as I type it out)

I frequently use powdered blush for eyeshadow. Especially for work

Me too.

There used to be some by Barbara Daly for Tesco that were for lips, eyes and cheeks, do I don't see why not.

Notarealmum · 22/04/2023 05:03

All the time, when I can be bothered with blusher anyway. I give my lips a bit of a rub and smear the excess on my cheeks - quick and effective (no, I don’t spend much time on makes up!)

I also recommend Stila Convertible Colour.

newtowelsplease · 22/04/2023 06:44

I have a nars stick thing that I use for both:

Thepossibility · 22/04/2023 07:13

I do. I find they last longer than most cream blush which is generally shit.

StamppotAndGravy · 22/04/2023 07:21

What sort of colours are people using? I mostly have deep red lipsticks. They'll make me look like a clown won't they?

Mrsjayy · 22/04/2023 09:15

Oh I use rose and dark corally colours @StamppotAndGravy how red are your reds? You could give it a try see how you look .

CookieDoughKid · 22/04/2023 09:29

Yes I do.lovely dewy finished glow and a great way to use up lipsticks

Rainbowshit · 22/04/2023 13:34

Add a tiny bit of lipstick to the back of your hand and add some concealer do it (a light one) and mix with a cotton bud. Add more of each until you like the colour and apply away!

StamppotAndGravy · 22/04/2023 14:33

I mostly use colours like ruby woo or darker more burgundy reds like rouge noir (but normally cheaper versions!). I guess the worst that happens is I scrape it off and start again :) I'll let you know when I eventually remove my pyjamas

StamppotAndGravy · 23/04/2023 07:33

Don't use Ruby woo, unless you like the teething toddler look

lindyloo57 · 27/11/2023 18:25

I started using cream blush as I am older it supposed to be better for me, but I find it not long lasting, between 2/3 hours, so I just brought a longer lasting lipstick and use that, and It seems to last better.
