Grey colouring shampoos

I'm using John Frieda Defy Grey shampoo for brunettes. I'm not using the conditioner or the blow dry foam.

I'm quite pleased with the way it blends the greys (and how it cleans my hair) but the colour is far too light for my hair. If using a box dye, I'd be a 5A, so medium dark ash brown. The Defy Grey makes my greys far too light and a warm reddish tone, which isn't right for me.

I read reviews of Plantur 39's brunette colouring shampoo but they suggested greys turned 'caramel' or 'dark ginger'.

Are there any other shampoo products which might get greys closer to a medium ash brown?
