Nobody’s child dresses

I really like some of the Nobody’s child dresses, but I am short (5.2). Has anyone short had success with these dresses or do I need to look at their petite range? I am a size 8/10 with curves and quite wide shoulders.

I think you'd be ok. They come up small though and the quality isn't great. But the designs are nice.

Sparkleshine21 · 17/04/2023 14:00

I’m 5 foot 10 and they are the perfect legnth on me so I would suggest going for the petite range

DumbPrinceAndHisStupidWife · 17/04/2023 14:32

I'm size 10 and a pear/hourglass kind of shape and I couldn't get on with them at all. I think they're cut for more athletic figures- certainly not much room in the hip area for me anyway!

CrackedActor · 16/06/2023 22:50

I'm 5 feet 3, size 12 and their size 10 was big on me. All their dresses, except for the tighter fit ones, looked like I was wearing a tent. Quality is poor. They appear a bit dated on too.

leccybill · 16/06/2023 23:54

My colleague has one and the quality doesn't look great at all for the price. Colours look sort of faded too.

Scrunchymum · 17/06/2023 13:31

They come up on the small side.
I know you didn’t ask about the quality, but they are not that good.

Downsizeddumpling · 17/06/2023 13:42

Agree they come up small and the quality on some of them seems compatible to lower priced outlets. In John Lewis yesterday I spotted some of their dresses in the sale including a broderie anglais dress but it’s not on the JL site. If you have an M&S outlet near you then head there and see if there are any in the clearance section.

pinkkiwi · 17/06/2023 14:10

I've bought a few and I agree about the quality. They don't last. Also they shrink in the wash. I won't buy anymore... but to answer your question I'm 5,1 and the petite length is best for my height.

MissDynamite23 · 17/06/2023 14:13

I have two - one has been great, worn well and looked smart. The other looked crap after the first wash and split along the seams.

I’m 5’5 and think the midi dresses I’ve had would be almost maxi on someone 5’2 but would look nice. I’m a curvy 10 and could wear both of them until 20+ weeks pregnancy as well as post partum and felt they looked nice. Overall I’d recommend but perhaps looking for sale bargains rather than paying full price.

I own two NB dresses and honestly they are not worth the hefty price tag. I like the fit and the designs but the quality of their garments just doesn’t meet the price, for me. That said, I’ve always bought them at a discount so if you’re shopping their summer sale I think the prices better reflect the quality.

morelippy · 17/06/2023 22:23

I agree the quality is a bit dodgy but I've found a couple of nice ones in their sale for about £15 so don't mind if they don't last. Wouldn't pay full price.

I'm a tall size 10 and I think you'd need petite

Softoprider · 17/06/2023 22:31

They sell them in M&S and I have tried a few on. I find them a bit 'Disney meets Little House on the Prairie' to be honest. A bit dated and not cheap either.

Wenfy · 17/06/2023 22:33

I only get mine at serious discounts. Refuse to pay more than £15-20 for a dress that’s not even Primark quality

NeverendingCircus · 17/06/2023 22:40

I'm 5'4" and have the usual issue that the fitted waist means the shoulder/bust area billows as it is designed for a longer torso. But other than that, they fit well and I think they are excellent value. The first one I bought several people assumed was £££. It was about £35.
