Collagen - or multi vitamin in general

Boring question, but looking at taking collagen supplements or a multi vitamin but it's a minefield!

I know diet is best, but I don't eat meat, fish or eggs, so I think I need a supplement of some kind.

I'm in my forties, pigmentation spots, fine lines, dull skin, thinning hair etc.

I don't mind if the product isn't vegan as my reasons for not eating meat and fish aren't ethical .

Any suggestions?

Thank you

I'm the same, plant based diet for health more than ethics. I take collagen, cod liver oil, vit D and B12. I get enough iron from leafy greens with vit C rich foods to help it absorb. But I no longer have periods so it may be worth an iron supplement if you do. My hair and skin are better than they've been in years.

I’m vegan and take a basic multi vitamin, vitamin d (recommended for everyone in the UK) as well as B12 and omega (I get a vegan omega).

What helped me was a Thriva blood test - it shows any areas where you might be a bit low and will recommend supplements.

If you don't eat those three then I suspect your Vit B is very low. Start with a good multivitamin, preferably with iron.

Thank you all for your recommendations.

Any brands of multi vitamin suggestions? Ideally want an all in one.

I use Perfectil. Used to use Centrum but as I aged found it wasn't enough. I get symptoms if I'm not getting enough vitamins and minerals. So I switched. Happy with the results.
