Cool-toned trench coat?

FuckingHateRats · 16/04/2023 19:21

I'm looking to buy a trench coat for spring and autumn.

I am a Winter and the caramel/camel toned ones look dreadful on me. A cooler toned scrub looks much better, but I've struggled to find many to choose from.

I saw this one in Berksha which is best so far, but wondering if anyone has seen any fantastic cool-toned/paler trenches on their travels

Following.
As a fellow winter I get irritated by the suggestions in S and B to get a camel coat or a beige trench coat (and tan bag /boots). Such deeply unflattering colours for winters.

DelphiniumBlue · 16/04/2023 20:49

This from M & S in a very pale pinkhere

mintich · 16/04/2023 21:34

I've been thinking this today too as I'm a Winter. Following with interest

Unfortunately, suggestions for pale pink, ivory and beige just makes us winters look washed out.

Also, light colours would soon look very grubby.

Lemursandions · 21/04/2023 07:15

Sadly I think the answer is navy!

Wishona · 21/04/2023 07:51

I’m a winter. Pale pastels do suit some of use, my mum’s friend called them the ‘ice colours’.
I like the pale pink M and S one and the Ivory La Redoute.
I used to have a pale pink wool coat….they do need washing a lot.

RampantIvy · 21/04/2023 11:26

Actually, you are right @Wishona. I'm a jewel winter and they don't suit me. It would have to be navy, charcoal or red.

LoobyDop · 21/04/2023 12:10

What’s wrong with navy? I’ve worn a navy trench for years.

RestingMurderousFace · 21/04/2023 12:16

Hobbs has a striking bright blue one this year that would suit a winter.

RampantIvy · 21/04/2023 13:02

Nothing wrong with navy at all.

Hellenabe · 25/04/2023 13:24

I am following as I've also wanted a trench coat but beige just doesn't work. That bright Hobbs one is pretty but what could you coordinate it with other than black.

I have this grey-green one from Monsoon. I’m not a winter but I need cool tones too and this is very flattering. Lots of people have commented on how nice it is.

Classic navy would be a good choice.
Or this light blue one from Zara is a bit different https://www.zara.com/es/en/trench-coat-with-tabs-and-belt-p03736040.html?v1=222770202&utm_campaign=productMultiShare&utm_medium=mobile_sharing_Android&utm_source=red_social_movil

I have the Saskia one from Hobbs in a cobalt colour and it gets a lot of compliments - even from a sales assistant in Harvey Nicks when I was walking past her concession of expensive stylish clothes, made me feel really chuffed! Bought it in the sale and was around £100, just looked now and they're not doing that colour at the moment but they change them regularly (or look at brand alley for older stock).
