As it's started to warm up a little bit I've finally persuaded myself to buy some new trainers for the summer - went with these cute vans in the end (https://www.schuh.co.uk/womens/vans-classic-checkerboard-black-and-cream-trainers/1905137270/?store=&gclid=CjwKCAjwue6hBhBVEiwA9YTx8LC3Cd3kWmy6QpS0QzJ6p4hzQZ9z--LVwRDnEbf26CNPMT2WW7bBTxoCcrMQAvD_BwE) as they seem to go with anything!

My question is do you wear them sockless? I think they look best barefoot so I've been doing that so far but wanted other people's opinions. Thank you everyone :)

No, I can't read.

Haaaaa

Covetthee · 17/04/2023 08:36

I wear mine with the ‘invisible’ socks from primark, you can’t see the socks at all.

i have tried barefoot but feet get quite hot and sweaty so not ideal with warmer weather.

HappydaysArehere · 17/04/2023 08:39

All the liners I have bought slide under my feet in no time.

I don’t think this thread is about what people think this thread is about.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 17/04/2023 09:14

Oh God no don't go barefoot- your feet will absolutely honk after a few days. To say nothing of the possibility of athletes foot.

Footsie socks or washable insoles all the way.

It’s so annoying and a bit mean to be honest. If people actually read the op they’d see pretty clearly what her question is.

It reads as two questions

If you read the op she says she has already bought them, and then sets her question out clearly, which is whether or not they should be worn barefoot.

WhatHoMarjorie · 17/04/2023 12:03

My feet would be a sweaty mess if I wore those sockless. But maybe it would be okay on a less sweaty trotter.

RuthW · 17/04/2023 12:08

Ok for gardening or on the beach.

I did read the op. Just posted how it read to me. It's not a big deal.

Flyinggeesei234 · 17/04/2023 13:23

I don’t mean that. I mean I don’t really think this is about style and beauty. More plimsoll/sweaty feet troll.

This post will get deleted but it’s pretty bloody obvious.

ilovechocolate07 · 01/05/2023 07:51

You can buy socks made for this type of shoe. I think I got mine from next a couple of years ago. Stop the sweaty foot soreness when the temperature goes up. Also, it's not uncool to have your white socks showing anymore. I have two teenagers and walk through London. All I see is young people showing their white, sometimes with the sports stripe tops, socks showing.

They're like torture devices.

Awful teenage shoes d

I have a 30something colleague with a pair and she doesn't wear them with anything skater like and they look so frumpy on her.

Goodwomannotstandingby · 01/05/2023 21:17

Wearing any shoe sock less is disgusting. Wear some trained socks!

Goodwomannotstandingby · 01/05/2023 21:19

Vans also got trainer socks for those shoes. But they direct not from shoe. Those actually stay on if you buy the right size.

Why is it disgusting? Surely you wear sandals without socks? And certain types of high heels? Or do you wear socks and sandals?

mewkins · 02/05/2023 23:08

I like Vans but I usually go for dark colours and wear with black socks. I'd wear trainer sock liner things with these.
