Does anyone know what this could be or how to treat it?

It is dry, itchy and feels like it’s burning but is not sunburn. I have sensitive skin and only use a basic moisturiser or sensitive skin and sun cream. Nothing new.

It’s on both sides across the top of my cheeks and around my eyes. I’ve just taken a photo although it was much worse this morning and the photos don’t capture how red and angry it is.

Thank you in advance.

Rosacea?

I have rosacea but I have the type with spots 😑. You can get lots of different treatments from the gp. Lots of people swear by soolantra which I'm very tempted to try out myself.

It looks like rosacea.

Your GP will be able to prescribe something for this. Soolantra works for a lot of people, me included.

You can buy soolantra from Superdrug or similar online. The best way in my experience is to address environment - no spicy/strong foods, turn off heating/air con, no blow drying etc.

Thank you everyone. I’ve googled treatments for redness a few times when this has come up in the past but am scared to try anything over that might make it worse.

I might have to bite the bullet. I have a horrible feeling that it’s triggered by chocolate, too much tea and hot showers. My favourite things! 🙁

I really appreciate your responses.

Look up signs of lupus. Hopefully not but it's best to check.

Woulditbeworth · 16/04/2023 17:04

Thank you @StraightHairDonCare I think Lupus is unlikely although I was talking to DH about being permanently tired. Probably due to work stress and inactivity.

I cried off a big get together today and am dreading work tomorrow. It looks awful, like a massive burn across my face.
