Can a mirror be different/show things differently

Hopefully I explain this ok. I’ve been shopping and tried on a few things that I bought and what I thought looked good on me. When I came home and looked in my mirror (ikea half a glass/mirror door), I think why did I buy that, you look terrible.

Can different mirrors show you differently? I know the lighting in shop changing rooms can be shit but I do try to see beyond that. I am now second guessing what I bought but surely all shop mirrors can’t be wrong, or can they?

Yes. I look amazing in my bathroom but awful in the mirrors in the office

god yes, I don't try anything on in the shop, take it home and decide there.
plus don't run the risk of some perv filming under the door or curtain etc

I honestly think shop mirrors must be tilted slightly to make you look taller and slimer!

slimmer! not slimer, although I do feel I resemble Slimer more in other mirrors!

Some of them are.

Don't shop mirrors always make you taller & slimmer? Like a less extreme version of the Hall of Mirrors at the funfair. I can't remember if it's concave or convex mirrors that do this.

Yes, have you ever been in a mirror funhouse?

Not sure which way around it is, but either concave or convex mirrors make you look taller and slimmer, so some stores use those types of mirrors.

Before I try on clothes, I look at my reflection in the clothes I’m already wearing and assess if I look better or worse than I did in my home mirror. Then what I’m trying on has to look significantly better to justify purchasing.
