Where would I find clothes like this?

So, I’m almost 30 and feel like my style is in a transitional phase at the moment. I’m completely over the “trendy” polyester rubbish in Zara, H&M and the like and want to invest in some good quality pieces and basically overhaul my wardrobe in time for summer!

These are some looks I’ve saved on Pinterest which I love. Simple, slightly floaty but chic. Can anyone recommend some brands with a similar vibe?

I am 33!

Sick of Zara / asos / next / primary / h and m etc !

I would rather have a much smaller wardrobe of high quality pieces !

Currently on second pregnancy in 2 years !!! After the baby and living in leggings for a solid 8 months after whilst I lose all the weight again ( ahhhhh) I’ll reinvent myself and wear poetry and some classic pieces of golf jewelry !

Before pregnancy I had bought two lovely jumpers from whistles ! But then Ive been back to bloody back preggers it seems .

Watching this thread with interest !

Agree re the florals. I'm over them. I'm not getting rid but I am going to do some wardrobe shuffling today to make room for some purchases

BansheeofInsherin · 15/04/2023 11:35

I don;t wear florals at all. I do wear saturated colours because I am Asian and chic beige/taupe/ecru near my face just makes me look beige all over! I appreciate them on other people though.

Wrap London looks great too. Hadn't heard of them.

I just bought some stuff from Zara last week and now feel like returning the lot!

Nepmarthiturn · 15/04/2023 11:40

Anybody have any idea where the dress in the OP's third photo comes from? It's lovely!

moose62 · 15/04/2023 11:59

Try 'Wrap' and 'Toast' as they are very similar to Poetry....unfortunately just as expensive though.

Greeksummer · 15/04/2023 12:00

I’m sure whatever you’ve bought from Zara is lovely @BansheeofInsherin

I wish I knew @Nepmarthiturn!!

Cos might help on wide leg trousers and jumpsuits, but the dresses might be too structured for you.

AppleJack43 · 15/04/2023 12:22

The first dress is from Hazel and Folk https://hazelandfolk.com/collections/the-melody-maxi-dress

The trousers look like a barrel leg style and there are plenty around at the moment.
Following this thread as I absolutely love this style of clothes.

Greeksummer · 15/04/2023 12:40

Thank you so much @AppleJack43! I’m definitely ordering the dress in my op. Now to source the other one…

I am visiting family in India over the summer, and I plan to buy some clothes from Nicobar here. Much cheaper! Dresses & Overlays – Nicobar Too complicated to ship here, but it may give people some ideas about lovely summer dressing.

https://andandrea.com/collections/best-sellers-collection but you need to join to get the code for their online pop up shop once a month

I love some of this stuff. They are based in AUS though? The reviews for shipping to Europe look ok but I do wonder. Do you have to pay import duty in the UK?

AgnesGray · 15/04/2023 13:39

I am definitely not an expert, and maybe someone will be along in a minute who knows better, but I have ordered clothes from Australia fairly recently and didn't have to pay import duties on it as it wasn't expensive enough. I think there is a limit to how much you can spend so you may want to check.

I did it because there was lovely clothing in natural fibres and even with delivery it was cheaper than shopping here in the UK! I'm moving to Australia 😄

ohsuzannah · 15/04/2023 15:18

Have you tried Uniqlo, op?

I think if it's over £135 Customs duties and VAT kick in.

Have a look at Curate and Rotate for inspiration. Even if you don’t buy from there, it’s a good place to discover lots of brands with this sort of look.

Me toooo! I just really love that one so was hoping someone would know. 😩

How did you find the photo?

OnLockdown · 15/04/2023 16:50

I was in Muji today, although not in the UK. They had a similar vibe to your pictures.

Greeksummer · 15/04/2023 18:11

It’s just from Pinterest @Nepmarthiturn. It’s great for inspiration but I can almost never source the outfits I save which is so frustrating.

Massively frustrating! 😒😆

BungleandGeorge · 15/04/2023 19:22

Toast, uniqlo

Greeksummer · 15/04/2023 19:46

Thank you but Toast and Uniqlo aren’t quite the vibe.

Sézane has some pricey but lovely knitwear!
