Am I spending too long in the hairdressers?

I get a half head of blonde highlights, toner, a small cut of the ends and blowdry and spend atleast 4/ 4 and a half hours in the hairdressers. When I speak to people they say that is far too long.

How long is usual for highlights and cut and blow? I love the result but do feel it’s a long time.

If you have thick hair then that sounds about right to me, but it would be a lot if you had shorter or thinner hair.

I'm usually in for 3.5 hours when I have my foils and freshen up done and I don't have a toner put on.

I had exactly this done today as I was there between 2.15 and 5.45 so not wildly different. My hairdresser did two other peoples cuts while I was waiting for firstly the bleach and the. Secondly the toner to take.

I'd say 2 hours maybe even less. The hairdresser can't be making that much money if they take that long with everyone.

Mine takes between 2 and 3 hours.
1 hour to put full head of foils on then 30 minutes to process. Wash and cut another 30 minutes maybe

I have similar. Balayage, toner, cut and blow dry or tong and I allow 3 hrs. She's a hairdresser on her own so she doesn't go off and deal with other people in between which I guess helps.

I’m usually in for 3 - 3.5 hours for bob length fine hair - full head highlights, cut and blow dry. Has been about that long for decades at many different hairdressers. So if you have thicker longer hair it sounds about right.

I have just full head colour cut and blowdry and in there 2.5 hours and always has been around that in all salons so sounds about right to me

slytherinabout · 14/04/2023 21:04

A full head of highlights takes 6 hours for my hair. I've been to lots of different stylists in recent years and the quickest they've done it is 5.5 hours. If you're happy with the result, why does it matter how long it takes? 🙂

Thankyou everyone it seems it’s about right. @slytherinabout good point I think it’s me being impatient!
