Tinted SPF for non makeup days

As title says! Having a hard time finding something I like. I’m currently using a naked sundays one but it’s a bit too sticky and more of a primer than a sunscreen.

requirements:
cruelty free
light coverage
not oily or sticky
available worldwide (I’m not in the UK)

my current one is great under makeup so I really just want one for my slob days where the only thing I do is walk the dog. Price is not an issue.

thanks!

I heard good things about Heliocare and am going to try it on holiday. I haven’t found a great one otherwise, they all have too low a spf or the It cosmetics one that is always recommended is very heavy, like a full-coverage foundation so not suitable unless you want to do a full face of makeup.

Beauty Pie :)

Heliocare gel oil free, comes in 3 different shades

Dior skin veil

Do you know if Heliocare can be used under make up, or does it pile?

Laura mercier

Dr Sam tinted Spf is great

catwithflowers · 13/04/2023 07:14

I second Laura Mercier. My daughter in law wears it and it looks great on her so she gave me some to try and I also really like it!

I’m sure you can use it’s under blusher etc, but you are meant to use it instead of any base makeup.

I would disagree with that altruist one, it's way too dark for my medium/light skin and also pills horribly, such a shame.

I've just been diagnosed with a melanoma on my face so am uber paranoid but am liking the tinted Bondi sands spf50 but have just ordered the no7 tinted spf50 which I've used before and it's fine. Gives a bit more coverage than the Bondi one.

Cancer nurse has recommended altruist (non tinted) and anthelios by la Roche Posay, I also liked the tinted ultrasun but am currently in between their honey and ivory shades and don't want to have to buy both.

JofraArchersFastestBall · 13/04/2023 08:21

Ohhh, @Switchwitch I've been looking for something exactly like that to even out my redness without having to do 'proper' makeup - do you think it might work for someone very pale though? Im worried that there's just one shade...

ModeWeasel · 13/04/2023 08:23

Seconding the Dr Sam Flawless tinted. I use it every day instead of tinted moisturiser

JofraArchersFastestBall · 13/04/2023 08:29

Ah, @Matchingcollarandcuffs, just seen your review of the tinted altruist. That's a shame, but good to know.

Cyclingmummy1 · 13/04/2023 08:35

Agree with Beauty Pie, but be careful with the shades.

februarysunset · 13/04/2023 08:42

Nars Radiant Glow tinted moisturiser is great and SPF 30. More than a sun screen but not as full on as foundation.

FGJunkie · 13/04/2023 09:03

Thank you for all the suggestions, it does absolutely need to be cruelty free though which many of these brands are not.

Heliocare is great under other make up and doesn't pill.

Altruist is too shiny imo.

Luredbyapomegranate · 13/04/2023 09:21

Laura Mercier is fantastic and they do an oil free version

Not sure if cruelty free but a quick Google will tell you

Stila is good, but very light - I have good skin but it’s only enough coverage with a tan.

Nars is good but gloopier than LM

FGJunkie · 13/04/2023 09:29

Laura Mercier is not cruelty free. Neither is NARS, Clinique, Dior..

never heard of Heliocare, is it a brand or ingredient? Google is leading me up the garden path on that one but all the ones I’m clicking on are not cruelty free either.

NARS use to be cruelty free and then decided to start selling in mainland China. Which is a shame as I used to really like their stuff. ☹️

What’s your definition of ‘cruelty free’?

FGJunkie · 13/04/2023 09:30

Not tested on animals, including being sold in mainland China where animal testing is required by law, therefore brands pay to have their products tested..
