Can Anyone Recommend Wide Leg Trousers That Are Flattering For A Petite Size 12

I really love the wide leg trouser styles that I have seen people wearing recently. Back in the 90's I was able to pull off the wide leg style with ease, despite being 5' 3". Now that I am rapidly approaching 50, I love the idea of revisiting my nostalgic youth, but I can't seem to find a pair that are flattering to me. When I was younger I was a size 8-10, now I am a size 12 with a tummy. Can anyone recommend wide leg trousers look good on a short middle aged woman?

What shape are you? If you have a decent waist, I find high waisted that draw attention to the narrowest part are flattering.

Also consider where pleats are, they draw the eye

I have a great pair with an elasticated drawstring waist from mint velvet. I think I'm a similar shape and height to you and I always get compliments when I wear them. They also do different lengths so you can get them to actually fit.

@Unbridezilla I agree that high waisted trousers would probably be more flattering but unfortunately I am a bit thick around my waist, so I always end up feeling like they are digging in to me whenever I wear them.
