Summer dresses with loafers

This is something I would have said looked completely odd a year or so ago but now I quite like the look. What do people think? Does it work or only for the modelesque?

It’s not a look that I personally like. It doesn’t look good on anyone in my humble opinion.

Ok thanks both. I didn't think I liked it either but as I say it's grown on me. The new Dune ad for example, it looks good imo, but, model. I know they wouldn't go with every dress of course. I figures they'd be comfier than a lot of shoes.

What shoes would you wear with a maxi sundress? Sandals only?

Ok thanks, yes, my Vejas look a little clumpy but the converse would probably be neater. I wouldn't have put loafers with a sun dress BTW!

Cowboy/western boots for me, ankle or calf high depending on the dress. Or clogs

Where would you get nice clogs? I had a gorgeous pair in 1996 but none since!

Thank you, I'm going to have a look. Nice to have an alternative. I think I'm going to get some loafers anyway as they are v handy with jeans and so comfortable.

Yes I like it too. I like it with black loafers too, depending on dress.

Backless loafers are pretty timeless if I'm honest. I wore them last year and found them comfy.

The shoes in the range Faye or Josephine, no, but the others, yes.

Loafers for dresses

I would call most of those slip on shoes rather than loafers. I am thinking of the hads leather, more preppy type versions of Josephine. Agree they wouldn't go with a dress.

I'd choose mules instead. Couldn't pull off loafers probably, but I'm short and have short legs.

Me too gossip girl lol, tho I'm a maxi dress fan so maybe doesn't matter as much. Have you seen some nice mules?
