Best place for staples

I need to completely overhaul my wardrobe. If you were starting from scratch, where are the best places to buy the staples from?

Can't afford high end but willing to pay for quality.

I’d suggest here for basic t-shirts and sweatshirts - really good casual basics and I’ve always found the quality to be fantastic. I’m on a similar mission and the bits from here are pretty much the only items I’ve kept. I really don’t rate the leggings though.

Brilliant, thank you. I've seen they do multipacks too which are handy.

@Nonverbalmum I completely agree! The t-shirts are great fit and feel wise, also wash really well, but the leggings are really bad!!

OP I also like Uniqlo for basics. Quality has gone down a bit (like everywhere else) but I still find them better than other high street shops.

M&S, Arket and Cos for good quality t shirts.

Nonverbalmum · 09/04/2023 18:12

@NightOwlNotEarlyBird I’m so glad someone else agrees about the leggings!

I’m glad it helped @MissingMo - the bundles are quite good value, I think the last time I ordered they were still customisable rather than pre selected so you can pick colours and designs you like 😊

What other basics are you looking for?

missmoon · 09/04/2023 18:53

With Rapanui, I agree that the basics are great, but in my experience they shrink even with careful washing and drying on the line / drying rack. I’m still wearing them, but I wish I had sized up.

@Nonverbalmum I'm looking for jeans and trousers too. I'm usually found in leggings so I'm glad you let me know to avoid those ones. I did find some nice trousers. Comfortable but flattering and really affordable in H&M a month ago. I'll see if I can find the link.

Another vote for All Saints for plain t-shirts - also Arket and Cos.
M&S and/or Levis for jeans.
Jigsaw lace trimmed camis for layering.
