best moisturising foot socks

abouttimeforanewname · 09/04/2023 07:50

My feet, actually just my right foot, is horrible. Around the heel, the big toe particularly it's really dry and starting to crack. Even around the toes on that foot it doesn't look nice 🙁

I'd like to get some moisturising socks to wear at night.

Any recommendations please?

TIA

You need Footner first, to get rid of all the built up dead skin, then try Neutrogena CICA-Repair foot socks.

thanks for the speedy response LadyAstor 😃

I’d just use a foot balm with urea and a pair of cotton socks.

abouttimeforanewname · 09/04/2023 08:14

I've been doing that DustyLee123.

I wear cotton socks every night (I can't get to sleep if my feet are cold) and I think I cream my feet probably 50/75% of the time (sometimes I do forget/can't be a..sed).

But they're not improving. 🤔

Does your cream have urea in ?

A foot cream for cracked heels with urea makes a massive difference to normal foot cream.

Using footner or similar (I have an Aldi version) would give you a head start though. Soak your feet to soften them first and then daily after that. Don't use moisturiser for a couple of weeks afterwards. Then once the peeling is over back to the urea foot cream.

Alternatively a podiatrist would remove the callous but that's more expensive.

I use a foot file, like a big nail file, on dry feet. That with a urea cream works wonders on my feet. I’d go for the Scholl creams if you’re struggling.

Try some 'gel socks'. They feel a bit weird when you first put them on but they really do work, no cream required.

Foot soak like this one to soften: https://www.stylecraze.com/articles/listerine-foot-soak/#listerine-foot-soak-recipes

Then use a callous blade or file to get the very hard skin off. Then lather in foot cream containing urea.

@roonetta do you have a link to any good gel socks?

Rollerbird · 09/04/2023 10:46

Thanks @roonetta . #mumsnetmademebuyit!! 😁 😁

@Rollerbird Wink

Do a footner wait for it to flake then do a week of moisturiser then do another footner

Thank you all
I’ve just had a little spend on line; fingers crossed it works 😃
