Need a tracksuit before I embarass myself

Please can you tell me about tracksuits and athleisure? I feel like I need an outfit that I can wear lying around the house and also around town shopping, going to casual places like cafés, etc. Can you recommend an outfit please that's good for that? Like a nice version of jogging bottoms and a matching top that would work for Spring weather. Maybe a tracksuit with a tshirt but one that looks like I've made a bit of an effort (when I haven't) if you see what I mean?

Yesterday I found myself nipping over to our local tesco extra in my pyjamas with a gilet thrown over the top. I told myself no one would know they were pyjamas but I know I was lying to myself.

I'm not sure if it's what everyone wears but I love a pair of nice athletic leggings (Lulu Lemon, gymshark, any nice legging really) then pop over a slightly oversized hoodie / sweatshirt or similar with a light jacket depending on the weather. That's my go to quick pop out the house look! Or an oversize T-shirt with leggings and a gilet. Tracksuit bottoms I'm really not a fan of in general unless they're really styled, it's a hard look to pull off imo.

If it's warmer I tend to go for the leggings, a light oversized linen shirt and a light gilet - it seems to work for me!

I have leggings and oversized sweatshirts to and also harem pants or thin joggers in plain black which are great for slinging on- most high-st and supermarkets sell them

If you want them fancy the hush ones are nice but they seem to be going out of fashion. Or the John Lewis anyday ones

What's your budget? Low middle or high end?

I have these from M&S & they're great. Like a cross between a legging and a pair of joggers. They call them cuffed high waisted sports joggers. I wear them same as pic if I'm leaving the house, or a crappy old hoodie if I'm not

Thanks, all the photos look great and, those M&S ones do look good too. In terms of budget I'm willing to stretch to Lululemon or Sweaty Betty as I plan to wear whatever outfit I choose a lot. I'm not a huge fan of Hush for some reason but will check out Anyday.

I love Sweaty Betty's Gary yours pants and 'after class' sweatshirt. I could live in the darn things!

Yoga pants, not yours!

I went to M&S this morning and got the cuffed joggers in black and I also bought an olive green jogger and sweatshirt set which I'm wearing now It may not look fabulous but will be acceptable with my cream coloured puffer gilet over the top for walking the dog or nipping to the shop - much better than the pyjamas anyway, and so comfortable as well. Plus i always have some gold jewelry on which helps. And I'll be lookig to get some Sweaty Betty Gary yoga pants in the sale at some point. Thanks again for the help, hope everyone else is enjoying whatever balance of comfort and style is right for you today, also!

I bought black whistles 'luxe joggers' in a sale last year on a whim & I've worn them a surprising amount. They fit brilliantly & are super comfortable.
I'm on the look out for a second pair now
