Bomb proof shapewear

I need to buy some shapewear to go under a full length dress for a special event. I need my hips and stomach taming but probably something that comes quite high to avoid the spare tyre look.
Any suggestions of something that works but also is relatively easy to go to the toilet in (speaking from bitter experience!)?

I came on here to find out the same thing! Looking for something really good for stomach and hip control too. 🤞🏼

Don’t try and squeeze anything - it always pops out somewhere! Go for smoothing. Top tip from the John Lewis personal shopper.

Haha! Love that @Muchtoomuchtodo - definitely don’t want anything popping out in random places. 🤣

OP, the M&S Control slip is your friend.

Ideal for wearing with dresses, you can team it with a bra and knickers of your choice/style. It smooths the bumps without squeezing you bits elsewhere. And unlike knickers that come up to your bra, or something that does up under your crotch, where you risk deflowering yourself all over again, it's easy to go for a wee.

Body Define™ Firm Control Shaping Slip | Body | M&S

The new and improved firm control full slip cinches the waist to create a classic hourglass silhouette. Cool Comfort™ technology helps keep you cool all day. Cut away around the bust, so you can choose which bra to wear. Topped off with a sheer stripe...

M&S slip posted above.

So bombproof I thought I wouldn't be able to take it off in the fitting room.

StarlightLady · 09/04/2023 10:43

@AnnaMagnani - Fortunately, I've never had that problem and can get in and out of mine. I did "get stuck" in a dress in a fitting room once. Viva the zip front dress.

AnnaMagnani · 09/04/2023 11:53

I was seriously considering calling for help! Thankfully I managed to peel it off.

Then the assistant made pointed comments that I had to buy it as it now had my dry skin all over it. So humiliating.

But it is absolutely the business in smoothing my many bumps.

StarlightLady · 09/04/2023 12:44

@AnnaMagnani - To sidetrack slightly about the assistant. Surely this is no different to when you try swimwear on (in which case you should keep your knickers on). Saying you had dry skin all over it is slightly over the top.

I'm pleased you are out now! At least you can have a wee with it on 😀.
