LightInTheBox - anyone ordered anything that actually turned up? Scam website?

I ordered some clothes from Light In the Box - my fault as it was getting succkered in by a pop up ad which I never normally bother with.

Order was placed and went through no problem. A while later like about two or three weeks I got an email saying that 2 of the itmes were out of stock very sorry that bit being cancelled.

Not heard anything since then. Now about 3 or 4 weeks later I've now just had another email saying very sorry rest of order delayed by two weeks and offering me options of

A. waitng and getting a 40% reward coupon
B. waiting and getting a 30% refund or
C. cancel the delayed item

it crossed my mind that you could set up a store front that never actually delivered anything as a means to get and use people's money virtually free of charge. like you could "sell" a million tshirts at £1 each. Hold a million pounds which you could invest in shares or interest bearing product for a month, fob off customers and then just pay it back.

This is all so weird that I've not had anything at all and wondered if any one has ever bought anything successfully from this website.

The company has a wikipedia page - not that means much I suppose.

Ordered, yes. Items arrived but quality was diabolical. Wrote it off to experience and never went near them again!

If they are offering you cancellation with refund, take it and run, as fast as you can!!

My mum ordered something for my daughter. It took ages to arrive, and the quality was very poor. I would avoid based on that!

They're a Chinese knock off outfit. My DD's friend orders a lot of clothes from there and she swears by it. However her bridesmaids dresses were awful and needed major alterations to make them fit.

It does seem to matter which seamstress you get as some are better than most.

Also the pictures on their site tend to be stolen

ordered cheap stuff there, it was fine and tbh same quality as 'cheap' stuff eg in primark but just cheaper
Took a month to arrive though

Got a swimsuit from them, arrived in good time and is acceptable quality for the price.

Bought my wedding dress from there and it was absolutely fine that was 10 years ago though!

Yes, ten years ago. The customs charges were almost more than the value of the order. Don’t do it.

My Chinese mate buys everything off there n swears by it but says you just have to tolerate v long delivery times. I bought a fitbit type watch from there but tracking was awful so they refunded 90% of costs n told me to keep it

I ordered two taps from them, was panicking as it took forever to arrive but they looked good and are still working 4 years on.
