Large brown pigmentation mark on face

Hi everyone
In my early 50s and have a large brown pigmenation mark on my cheek, developed over the past year or so.
I'd be grateful for any advice on how to fade it topically with a cream, rather than anything more invasive.
Also I'm a bit nervous of those acid type creams as I have heard that they make the skin more sun sensitive.
I've tried a few of those 'dark spot' creams to no avail. At the moment I cover it up with foundation, which helps, but it still shows through a bit. Just want it to go!

Thanks for all your suggestions.

Bumping, because I’ve got one I want to get rid of too!

Dermatica is your best bet, prescription strength. There are normally offers to get your first month for £3.50 so it’s worth a try. I had this after a holiday last year and it was almost completely faded within a month of using their cream.

Yeah dermatica or skin+me you take a photo of your skin and tell them your skin goals and they create a formulation just for you. I use skin+me, I use them for fine lines and wrinkles and their customer service is excellent I've been with them 3 years now. I've got a code you can use to get a month free just £3.50 p&p

I had one a few years ago, I used to cover it with makeup but I could still see it, so I went on youtube watch a few tutorials, then went and brought from The ordinary a retinol, vitamin c and some glycolic lotion, it took around 6 months but its almost all gone, the only thing is I don't know which product did it, unless it was the combination of all three, I now use retinol that I buy once a year from spain, and a glycolic lotion, the first brown spot hasn't come back, I do have a couple of smaller new ones, but they are much smaller and not as noticeable as the first one.

A vitamin C will definitely help. If you watch Nadine Baggott's videos she has quite a few on pigmentation. Or, as above, there are referral codes knocking about for skincare subscriptions that give you AND the person posting the code a discount/perk.

I had cryotherapy and it worked really well. Delighted as no need to cover up now

GoddessofWar · 09/04/2023 19:18

Dermatica worked for mine. Used a formula for hyperpigmentation and was religious with SPF. They do come back once you stop though but I’ve just started up again!

Anything you use will make your skin more sun sensitive and prone to more hyperpigmentation so you'll have to use high day every day. But then you should be anyway

Sorry. Didn't mean to requote your post

@lindyloo57 was it the vitamin c suspension or the ascorbic acid in the glass bottle?
Im already using their retinol and a glycolic lotion with no effect so I want to try the vitamin c you used with success.
thanks

@LastWill it was the vitamin c suspension in the tube, I don't use it now, trying to buy less products. I now use retirides from spain, which is the retinol, alpha h liquid gold my glycolic acid, and spf everyday.

Thank you.

I've got them all over my face! Melasma rather than the occasional spot though. I use hydroquinone and tretinoin on my face from dermatica.. not seen much of a result yet.

Sun zapper do a great zinc stick in 2 colour ranges and that pretty much disguises my melasma, so it might work for your brown spot too.
