Astral cream

So I was trying to find a new face cream. Remember years ago I used astral, so bought a tub and forgot that lovely smell. Has anyone been using this? I've only used it a few days, wondering others experience with it?

I love it. My mum and Joanna Lumley both wear it and both have lovely skin.
It doesn't have an SPF though, so I don't wear it everyday.

My 80 year old nan when she was alive used this every day on her legs for decades, she literally and honestly had the youthful-looking legs of a 30 year old. The stuff is insane.

So1invictus · 06/04/2023 16:17

Yep. Have a massive tub and use it always on my neck and on my face when it's particularly dry.

AllTheWatersTurnedToClouds · 06/04/2023 16:19

My grandmother swore by it - she had lovely skin even in her 90s

LindorDoubleChoc · 06/04/2023 16:20

I use it on my neck and upper chest. It's too much for my sensitive face. It makes a great cuticle cream too!

memesndmoreme · 06/04/2023 16:24

It's so cheap aswell. I think I will use it as my night cream and then a cream in the morning with am spf. It smells amazing.

That's my daily face cream! I've been using it for years.

I use it in the day time and full fat Nivea at night.

Lovely smell and great moisturising.

Every winter I have sore cracked hands

I bought Astral and my hands were absolutely fine through the winter.

Whenasuitcasejustwontdo · 07/04/2023 15:01

I use it on my face. The scent reminds me of my Nan who had lovely skin.

The smell is lovely

I can't tolerate it - makes my face itch. And yet blue pot Nivea, which is just as perfumed, feels fine.

LadyEloise1 · 07/04/2023 16:43

I have just discovered it - very late to the party.
It is great. I have very dry skin on my knees and fake tan looks very patchy there. The Astral cream has really helped. It's awesome. I've told my daughters how good it is and they're using it now.
I just wish it came in a tube, like Nivea or Nivea soft.

Lampzade · 07/04/2023 16:50

I have been using Astral for years.
People always comment on how great my skin is.

Lottapianos · 07/04/2023 16:52

I adore it. My dry skin loves it. I use it every night, and sometimes in the day under SPF if skin is especially dry

LeafHunter · 07/04/2023 16:52

Yes I love it.

BeatriceFranklin · 07/04/2023 16:55

I use it in winter but it’s too heavy for skin in summer for some weird reason, it makes my face greasy in summer. My gran, my mum and both my sisters used Astral and all had beautiful skin.

Deathraystare · 07/04/2023 19:33

It is a good barrier cream. My mum wore it so of course my aunt had to copy!!!

It was my mum's cream - I keep a pot in my bedside table to sniff when I'm missing her. Love the stuff.

evilharpy · 07/04/2023 19:56

The smell of it reminds me so much of my auntie, it's so lovely.

Easterfunbun · 07/04/2023 19:56

I think they’ve messed with it. Used to love it but now find it is incredibly watery once it goes on the skin.

If it does that it's reacting to a water based product you've already used which makes it separate. It often does it if you've got a serum with silicones in on. (almost all serums are silicone heavy) Also make sure your hands are completely dry.

SoapCollector · 13/11/2023 18:58

@Lottapianos Please can I ask which face SPF you use on top of astral?

Lottapianos · 13/11/2023 19:23

@SoapCollector , I use Bondi Sands SPF 50
