What on earth is suitable these days for an in person interview for a senior corporate management position?! Size 18, big tummy and horrible upper arms so need covering.

I have a black blazer and 7/8 trousers but is that too formal these days?! What top underneath?

please link to some ideas or suggestions!

Firstly your tummy and your arms are fine. Let’s get some body positivity going!

I wouldn’t say blazer is too formal for an interview and it’s always better to go a bit overly formal than to be too casual. For a top I would go for a splash of colour. Something like this? https://www.next.co.uk/g7666s3/d09755?dp=a&dndl=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwuLShBhC_ARIsAFod4fKdXSoPu0qoFLbmipUcbI2sXf4QxklMZnd10m2PwLPLy1ELLzJjqR8aAuXYEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds#d09755

And a long necklace over the top.

An alternative would be a smart dress - maybe a wrap style. Then you could take the blazer with you and wear it or not depending on the vibe when you arrive. This may not be quite the right thing but along these lines? https://www.johnlewis.com/hobbs-dina-tie-waist-dress-navy-multi/p110069580

OP, I've got an interview for a senior position in next few weeks, and I will be over 30 weeks pregnant. I am sticking with formal business attire. Got a pencil skirt and blaser (black, maternity) and a white/cream blouse, with minimal jewellery.
I think the key here is that it should fit you well and complement your figure.

DomesticElf · 06/04/2023 05:33

Compliment rather. My excuse it's 5am 😬

Full business attire is not too formal for senior management position in a corporate setting. I’d go with a suit and a nice blouse/shirt underneath.

sighofthetimes · 06/04/2023 08:23

Depends on the industry. Full business attire isn't always suitable. If I was recruiting and someone turned up in one of those uniform-y type suits (remember the next ones in the early 2000's?) I would not consider them to have a finger on the pulse.

Blazer definitely still works though! Good luck!
