Heel cream on face

Basically I have eczema on my face, neck really, just behind my ears.

tried everything, every cream going from cheap to expensive. Nothing works or does for a day and then looks to be making the eczema inflamed and red. I obviously don’t want to be using my steroid cream on my neck and face.

so this week I resorted to heel cream as the skin looked like it was falling off. It worked. It’s continued to work. I have baby soft skin.

can I continue this or have I broken some cardinal rule? Will I regret this in 10 years? It’s the urea in it, I know as I’ve used it on my lip eczema sparingly in winter.

It’s going to be the urea in the cream.

GeneHuntsCowboyBoots · 04/04/2023 09:55

Foot cream tends to have a higher percentage of urea but I don’t know if there’s harm in using that on the face. I’d imagine not if you can tolerate it.

I use this which contains it too, though this is formulated for the face so may be better long term. I started using it because my post Tret skin peels a bit without a decent moisturiser and this works really well.

I use a urea-based cream for my facial eczema too - it’s specially for the face. Eucerin Urea Repair face cream. It has 5% urea in it.

Oh perfect! I’ll look those up! I love mumsnet 🤩

I've done the same, good isn't it?

SisterAgatha · 04/04/2023 10:45

I’ve used it sparingly, just a little and once a day and it’s mended the eczema brilliantly. Far better than any of the Elemis or Estée Lauder creams or serums. Elizabeth Arden is a no. It’s worked as well as the steroid cream I’d say which is what made me hesitant.

I’ve ordered this as I already use a separate Hyaluronic Acid. Will see how I get on! Feel really positive now, eczema has been the bane of my life.

I can't see any reason not to use the heel cream in your face.

I use CCS cream on my heels and it works brilliantly

SisterAgatha · 05/04/2023 08:47

I was wary because it worked as well as my steroid so I thought maybe there is something in it that can’t be used long term.

im awaiting delivery of the face cream so let’s see!

Brilliant! I hope it works as well for you as it has for me.

A lot of people swear by udder cream, as in cream for cow's udders
