Just wanted to write a positive post on how I managed to successfully go off the Yasmin pill and not suffer any bad breakouts. Before the pill I suffered from bad acne to my face and back which cleared after 4 months on the pill. But I was then told I have to go off the pill due to blood clot concerns!
After doing some research, about 1 month before I stopped the pill I started taking these supplements:
Omega 3
Zinc
Vitamin C
Magnesium oil applied to skin - feet and lower legs
Probiotics alongside eating some fermented foods I.e sauerkeaut, miso soup.
I also simplified my skincare routine; cleanser, moisturiser, SPF and an acne wash in the evening and moisturiser. I only really use cetaphil or cerave products nothing fancy.
I did have one small breakout in the middle which I quickly linked to my protein powder/ creatine I started using for the gym. As soon as I stopped my skin cleared up again and never got bad so I was certain that caused the issue.
I eat pretty healthy but not super strict. The only thing I have really concentrated on is getting protein with every meal to help balance my blood sugars.
