What fresh new hell is this - how do you dress for this? Anybody know have or have a suggestions? I would have gone all out but think safe silk black midi dress is the safe option.

I think your idea is about right but think any nice plain coloured dress would work equally well.

I hate these vague dress codes. I once attended a special birthday party in a gorgeous location which had an annoying dress code of ‘dress to impress’. Someone in the party WhatsApp group asked if that meant ‘black tie’ and the party organiser said no its dress to impress. This was interpreted in various different ways.

For women it's easy as a little black dress works for pretty much all social occasions except group hikes! For men it's a nightmare, dinner suit, lounge suit, trousers and blazer???

@BeeBB oh yes dress to impress another nightmare.

@gogohmm spoke to two of my male colleagues one was planning on going in chinos one in a tux such a ridiculous dress code

Yeah that is a bit confusing isn't it. For more dressy occasions I find that Nadine Merabi always have great bits, had an email to say they have a sale on at the moment too which is a bonus
