Sandals!!!

Hit me with practical, comfortable, and stylish sandals that will last the summer. Need to be robust enough for walking/chasing after kids and possibly cycling around.

Trying to avoid the Mumsy look, I have size 7 feet that are a bit knarly from running (pedicure pending).

These might veer more towards 'practical, comfortable, durable for activity', than 'stylish' per se.

But not 'mumsy', imo. Especially with a nice nail polish colour.

They've also got enough strap detail going on to draw attention away from the foot area you're not so keen on!

I've got a pair of keens. They're AMAZING.

Blueuggboots · 23/03/2023 17:17

I just found the elle blackstrap on Amazon for £30!

Polly291869 · 23/03/2023 17:21

Ooh, I like the seamoss/ipanema colour Keen.

Thanks for the recommendation!

hey @goodenoughmum88 I've been researching sandals for weeks and returned some in the process. I've just ordered these some from schuss great price and really good reviews will report back! https://www.schuh.co.uk/womens/schuh-chaser-leather-chunky-buckle-black-sandals/1735987020/

itsmeagainagain · 23/03/2023 21:08

schuh that should say

thenewaveragebear1983 · 24/03/2023 08:21

I have the same issue every year. Anything that actually fit my feet and are comfortable look hideous. I bought some expensive Joseph seibel ones last year and I think I wore them once, they were horrible.

sketchers do a nice little sandal called ‘bobs’ which they used to do in a light gold, they were lovely. This year the fabrics aren’t really my cup of tea. just ordered the keen ones off the back of this thread, in olive green.

i will probably also get a pair of Toms, they are nice light weight pumps for wearing with dresses and shorts, but they don’t survive the summer

I have so many pairs from here:

I love my Saltwater sandals - my pair have now lasted me for several summers and still going strong and look great.

Quite pricey but well worth the investment. They are stylish (don’t look like “walking” sandals)
they now do them with thicker soles too for comfort.

MiniCooperLover · 24/03/2023 14:48

I agree EntreMummy, I have three pairs. Tan, Blue and Khaki and I love them. I had to replace my tax because the sodding dog ate them and the repair gave way eventually but generally they're great value. I wore them all day around Disney in the heat and my feet didn't hurt at all.

paulpullover · 25/03/2023 10:34

I have saltwaters, DMs and Birkenstocks. I love how they all look, but my DMs are by far the comfiest. I have classic saltwater sandals which have a completely flat sole. I find that they start to feel uncomfortable after a while as there is no support or bounce. But they now have a range with a thicker sole that look great but I can't justify buying them sadly!

smashinggrapes · 25/03/2023 10:48

DMs and Birkos. Only option for me, the walking style ones look hideous to my eye

SecondhandMuck · 25/03/2023 10:52

I might try a pair of the thicker soled Saltwaters this year.

Xrays · 25/03/2023 11:00

They’re not pretty but I always end up in Teva sandals. They’re quite “in” - Asos have them in different colours and they’re very comfy.

AuditAngel · 25/03/2023 11:50

Actually I was looking at the tan ones rather than black. I find them more neutral, I don’t really like black in the summer

goodenoughmum88 · 25/03/2023 17:28

Love Teva’s they’re my go to walking sandals in the summer, thanks for the reminder.

Very tempted by the newer saltwater sandals with thicker soles - need th bouncy support to prevent plantar faciatis!

Saltwater sandals. Started with the black originals.
Last year I bought some rose gold thicker sole ones (think they call them boardwalk?) And wore them all week in Greece walking about. So comfy.
