What colour suit do you think looks nicest (men)

I am helping my brother buy a suit for him to wear at a family wedding but also want one where he can wear on different occasions e.g. other weddings, formal meetings, work meetings etc..
What colour suit do you think looks nicest for someone who is under 35. He is 30. I was thinking between navy and grey. But I am not sure whether to go for lighter suit colours or stick with darker suit colours.

It is between navy and charcoal grey. I have noticed some people saying they like tan shoes others saying no. As we are looking to get a darker shade suit (charcoal, navy) surely it is better to style them with black shoes and black belt which would make the most sense?

Yes. Absolutely.
Shirt could be plain white, pink or blue or stripes of those colours and a colourful tie lifts it all, unless it’s a funeral when it should be black unless otherwise requested.

Navy is a Xmas IC smart suit colour any occasion. Grey is too school-y, and best left for business.
Traditionally navy suits are worn with tan shoes, but black looks fine too. If maybe go for tan fir a wedding rather than business event.
A baby pink shirt looks good with navy, particularly with a fair complexion.

Actually, well-fitting trousers do not need a belt. Also, the sign of a good suit is one with trousers that have tabs at the back of the waistband to put alter the fit as/if needed. If you're investing in a suit, look for something like this rather than being reliant on a belt (which always looks dreadful when worn with a suit).
Shirts should be simple, and definitely not ones where the collar and cuffs are a different colour to the body and sleeves. Also, a check can be rather natty, not a gingham, more like the kind of print one would find on graph paper. Back when my other half wore suits on a regular basis, he often wore a chambray shirt underneath both his navy and charcoal suits, and a pair of canvas Vans style shoes or desert boots (but never tan or brown)! A really good charcoal or navy suit can be adapted for any occasion, and not just for those which are smart. The most important thing is to look for something well-fitting and classic, so a three or two buttoned suit with a slim to mid lapel and single vent jacket would be my preference.
And yes, black accessories.

I don’t think William would wear brown shoes with a suit?! He may with a boating jacket (or “blazer” to you young casual lot) and chinos and a belt but not a suit. Harry is Americanised and youthful so may do.
Navy blue suits for work are correctly worn with black shoes.
