Dress for black tie

Need a budget option dress for a black tie event. 5f7, curvy.
Ideally black in colour, ideas welcome please!

I always wear evening trousers - black or navy - and a fancy top. I also have a similar ensemble in lavender for hot summer days.

Phase eight have some black tie dresses in the sale. When you say 'budget', what price are you thinking?

I got a dress from Pretty Kitty after seeing a recommendation on here for a work event that was black tie. I am a size 16 hourglass and 5ft5 and length/fit were spot on in my usual size and price was reasonable. I did wear an M&S slip type thing underneath for a bit of extra smoothing

I got a lovely dress for my sisters wedding from the Little wings factory.

Going to a black tie event soon and just bought a dress from Goddiva. Some lovely options for £100 or less.

As a curvy girl there's not a chance I would wear trousers and jacket as I carry my weight across my tum. There's loads of flattering dresses. Have you looked at monsoon and Next? Both are true sized and have amazing options.
