Do you still use your mulberry Bayswater?

Having a sort out and might start using mine again but wondering if they look a bit dated now? I always thought they were a classic! It’s very old but in excellent condition.

Not used mine for years! Too heavy.

I gave mine back to Mulberry (I’d abused it using it as my everyday bag and it was knackered). If you have the receipt, they give you 25% credit towards a new one.

I put the money towards a new Bayswater tote which I’m now treating with similar disrespect 🤔

I do still like the look of mine but it’s always irritated me that I can’t actually wear it over my shoulder. I haven’t used it for a couple of years now, I’m sure I will at some point though.

Just realised the leather flaps on mine have curled despite it being stored in a dust bag . Anyone had this issue and fixed it?

I had a similar thought last week and dug mine out from my wardrobe. The flaps have also curled! Not sure I’d even use it as I work from home now but has anyone managed to undo the curl?

Just try to reverse the curl using clothes pegs.

I haven’t worn mine in well over a decade, they used to be everywhere but I haven't seen one in years.

They are so heavy it’s hard to believe i tromped around London for so many years with it as my main handbag.

I do occasionally crack it out and give it a stroke but it definitely feels of a time. Maybe in another decade once the 90s trends of bodysuits and crop tops are over.

I had the mulberry Roxanne which I loved for about 18mths then got totally fed up with the weight and fiddly opening / closing straps . It then had a biro split in it and ink everywhere so I chucked it out.
Made me realise it doesn't matter how pretty something is if its not practical i won't use it .

Mine is 15 years old and still used!

Not used mine since I finished working in an office in March 2020.

I still use mine occasionally (classic colour), but it’s far too clunky for everyday use
MIL has a different coloured one and that looks quite dated now, she hasn’t used it in years

I've not bought Mulberry in years & sold all my bags from them. The brand feels very 00s but I think the Bayswater is a classic shape. Heavy though.

I have the dark brown one from 2009. I can’t remember when I last used it but I still think it is a beautiful bag. It’s just too heavy for everyday use unfortunately.

Although I loved mine back in the day, I just have so many memories of it being so heavy and dragging it about so it just doesn’t fit in with my lifestyle now due to mostly wfh. When I do go into the office, I carry a laptop so the thought of the weight of Bayswater plus laptop is not appealing. Currently I use my Longchamp but really need to switch up to some kind of rucksack.

I got mine back out last week. I went for oxblood croc. I'd forgotten how good it is but it's so heavy.

I’ve sold my mulberry bag on Vinted this week.

it was a Daria hobo one and like the Bayswater it was heavy!

I barely used it, but had had it around 8 years. Got £250.

My Bayswater is fairly new, I've only recently been able to afford one! I'm surprised that so many think it's a heavy bag, I don't find it so. Also, I don't live in the UK and it's never been an over popular brand here, so to me it's a classic beautiful bag that you don't see around much. I chose a bright colour as colourful bags are my 'thing'. I absolutely love it and will use it forever.

Embelline · 18/03/2023 16:20

@DramaAlpaca ooh what colour did you get? Mine is chocolate brown which is handy as it goes with most outfits and now I’ve got it back out again I’m going to start using it. I keep thinking things aren’t on trend or not for every day when in reality, I’m now thinking who cares anyway? I’m a self employed mum of one not a celeb, chances are nobody is going to be looking at me anyway 😂

I just need to fix the curling flaps on mine and hope they don’t leave too obvious a crease mark in the leather.

I'm about to go back to the office a couple of days a week and fully intend to use mine (I prefer the boxier style to the heritage one). It's a great laptop bag for me.

Mine isn’t actually that heavy either but I’ve got the smaller size not the bigger one

I have a Roxanne which is well and truly thrashed. I might send it to a handbag clinic and wear it again this summer.

I always used to use my Bayswater for travelling as I could fit loads in it but tucked it away when DS was born. However I’ve just realised I can fit an awful lot of DS’s faff in it as well which is handy so I’m definitely bringing it back out. I actually prefer the older mulberry’s to the newer models (classic styles permitting - I will always love the Bayswaters!)

@Embelline mine is this season's Lancaster Red. It's gorgeous. My style is all about what I like and what suits me, and that colour is so me. I have dozens of bags and only one or two are black or brown. I like a bag to stand out.

Anjo2011 · 18/03/2023 16:44

I have two and haven’t used either in probably ten years. Too heavy and cumbersome now. My bags now are much smaller and I carry less things.

Mrcpy · 18/03/2023 16:49

I have a very old one but the leather is beautiful. It’s oak. What stops me from using it is that the handles have gone black. Does anyone know of a solution to this?

I have a black sparkle tweed Bayswater.

Love it and use it in the winter months as it's very festive.

It's a Mulberry's classic, signature design. To me that means it's timeless.

Enjoy it!
