Can I safely shrink new jumper?

I have a new jumper
Polyester , acrylic, wool and elastane
from monsoon.
it is perfect except the length, it’s about three inches too long.
I’m currently wearing it with a French tuck but it adds a bit of bulk.
could I safely shrink it? Maybe wash at 50 then gently stretch out the sleeves and width but not the length?
thanks!

No I think it would feel kind of felted. I accidentally washed an acrylic/wool mix jumper at 40 degrees with my cotton tops etc and don't like the feel of it anymore, it lost all softness.

Oh good point
guess I'll just have to tuck!

Not safely, but give it to me and I'll shrink or stretch it to a random and totally inappropriate size with ease.
