Growing out my grey hair, feeling like a frump. What can I do to feel better about it?

I’ve been contemplating growing out my greys for a few years, but have gone for it and have a few inches regrowth. My hair probably only about 40% grey, so isn’t a giant block, but the grey is very frizzy (as opposed to my non greys) and the frizz is not a good look!

What can I do to overall feel better about how I look? I feel like such a frump!

I am a bit unfit at the moment (though not overweight) so that doesn’t help. And I never buy new clothes, but I am of the “buy less buy better” philosophy so my clothes are all great quality, I just don’t have terribly many of them.

What are some quick ways to feel less… frumpy?!

I have started using an old lady shampoo for grey hair. It helps to even tones out I find and makes it look intentional rather than an act of a vengeful god.

don’t use it every time I wash my hair, the Mrs Slocombe look isn’t my aim.

I think you should either have a short pixie cut, or have your hair chemically straightened if you want to keep it longer. My friend had this done with her grey hair, and it's lovely.

First time I did it, I grew it out as much as I could bear then had it cut really short. It wasn't a good look, this DV hated it but it was so easy to look after and of course it grew!
Decided I wasn't ready after all to go grey in my 40's so went back to colouring for a few years. Then tried again and I have predominantly silver hair in a shoulder length bob and I am very happy with it. Great condition, not frizzy and thick. It also suits my skin tone.
I agree you need a pop of colour in your clothes/lips if you've grey hair to stop you looking washed out.

Fear about having a trim, and the bottom bit dyed grey/silver.
