Does this ring look too much like an engagement ring?

I’d like to buy something special with some inheritance. I love this ring but is it too engagement-y?

I am really stuck on where to look for something classic but still a bit individual, any pointers appreciated!

Thanks all. Yes I would prefer lab grown or vintage diamonds, so maybe vintage is a better route to take.

If you are thinking of spending that much and that is the one you love then you must get that one.thats the one you've fell in love with.who cares about the rest.i wear similar ( ahaha like supermarkets version) on my left.noone has ever battered an eye nor asked. And no,no little looks either.it just looks really nice on that finger.and rhat style is lovely.
Honestly if this is the one.go for it.youll be so much happier knowing you've bought the one you originally set your heart on.

It's £1300? Not 48k

That's strange... it's showing as £47,000+ on my phone... ah I think it's because I'm overseas atm and it's showing the figure in the local currency, but still with the £ sign.

Buy what you like and wear it on the finger of your choosing. I’ve inherited several diamond rings in different styles, they were probably all engagement rings in the past. I wear them on the fingers they fit, including one that occasionally replaces my own engagement ring.

Have a look at Katherine James. Have ordered from her before and bought a stunning ring. Came in great packaging too.

KJJ does rock...they are some beautiful rings!

47k really would be a rip off!!
I was wondering where the 47k came from.

I wear one similar to that on my ring finger, and my Grans wedding band and im neither engaged or indeed married! I just like them and that's the only finger they fit on 😬

Here's an example - a more typical price for what a lab diamond should cost:

That's not a true lab grown diamond though. That's a gem that looks like a diamond- like cubic zirconia. If you look at the description, it tells you the molecular structure is different. That is why it's cheaper.

A lab grown diamond is molecularly the same as a naturally mined diamond.

Lab grown diamonds on the whole are cheaper though, you a loose 0.3c diamond is probably a couple of hundred pounds (take a look at Novita, 77Diamonds etc).

Personally it’s a bit nondescript, I’d be looking at something more unique/vintage but that’s just my preference

Isabelle70 · 15/03/2023 17:16

I have a diamond solitaire right hand ring. I guess it could look like an engagement ring but I purchased the diamond and had the setting made to my specifications for my birthday present to myself :)

Luckingfovely · 15/03/2023 17:28

Oh @Alarae that's my mistake then! Must read the fine print more closely...

Viviennemary · 15/03/2023 17:35

Doesnt matter if it looks like an engagement ring. But far too dear for a lab grown diamond Best value is to go for a second hand ring. A lab grown diamond is a fake.
