John Lewis

How do you find John Lewis for womenswear? I have found their own brand a bit hit and miss. I want to like their anyday range but not convinced by the styles up close or the quality. Quite like the idea of the kin and and/or range.

I've got quite a lot of Kin clothes, I like them a lot. But I find they tend to go through seasons of being quite boring and sludgy, and then seasons with some lovely prints. An oversized Kin shirt with trousers and statement earrings is pretty much my work uniform now.

I am buying more Kin than anything else now. The quality is good and they are properly made and hang well with a few exceptions. They are very oversized and you may prefer to go a size or 2 down if that is not your thing. There is too much black, olive and similar sludge colours though as pp said, so I don't buy as much as I otherwise would!

I like the cashmere, but I didn't like the new anyday range, I found the fabrics cheap lots of polyester.

Kin is very good. Rest im not that bothered about. Had a few items from the everyday range and returned them all. Very ill fitting.

I have a pair of Anyday jeans and like the quality.

I have some John Lewis jeans that are the best fit I have found (still not the holy grail though), and some AnyDay shirt dresses that I wear often.

I find the quality of most of the brands isn't much better than cheaper shops like H&M, La Redoute, even Primark. I often look for style ideas in John Lewis but then buy similar things from the cheaper shops.

@HappyAsASandboy I bought my Anyday jeans in the sale and was gutted tht they didn’t have my size when I went back for another pair. I did however find basically the same pair in Primark and found the quality to be pretty much the same.
