What has gone wrong with NEXT jeans?!

I've always been able to buy jeans in Next; haven't changed size in 30 years... could pop in or buy online, job done.
I recently needed to replaced two pairs that have sadly finally fallen apart.. went in, had to try on several different styles as the sizing seemed a bit variable.

One wear of each and they just went saggy and loose! Usually I get a least a few days out of a pair of jeans before they need washing to tighten them up!

Can anyone recommend somewhere else? I'm a pretty standard 10 most places.

Are you taking them back @StillMedusa ? I’d be annoyed if that were me!

Niftythrifter · 13/03/2023 18:29

What style of jeans are looking for @StillMedusa ?

StillMedusa · 13/03/2023 22:06

I've mostly been in skinnies for the last 5 years or more. But was quite pleased to see bootcut back in the shops as they suit me well..so had bought a pair of each. Both have sagged round my hips/bum. I honestly am no different in size or shape from 5 years ago.. it's like the jeans have more 'give' in them !

I didn't take them back as I needed some to wear but they annoy me by about half way through the day as I'm hoiking them up!

Tesco jeans are the best. Always hold their shape

I got some lovely jeans from Fat Face. They come up big though so size down.

I bought some boot cut jeans at Next recently. At first they seem to fit perfectly but then they became really loose. I have to keep hoiking them up. I have lost weight - they just become loose after a day's wear.

Hot wash to shrink them a bit?

ElaOfSalisbury · 13/03/2023 22:27

Following with interest. Been wearing Next jeans for years. The last two (skinny) pairs I’ve bought have also quickly gone baggy and very cheap looking.
Such a shame as I’m quite tall and struggle to find long jeans that fit.

LampHat · 13/03/2023 22:32

Yes! I have a standard skinny pair I buy from Next, and had to double check the label on the latest because they were baggy by day 2. Gutted!

Trainstrike · 13/03/2023 22:43

My last two pairs of Size 8 Next jeans have worn down so much on the legs/crotch that they have ripped! I don't have particularly large legs either so have been completely baffled by it.

No recommendations I’m afraid but agreed re Next. I’ve been buying their jeans for years. They are shocking now. I’ve tried multiple times to order the jeans I love (lift bootcut) and every pair has been different despite being the same size. They just don’t fit me anymore. Same with my daughter. Ordered the mid bootcut. Three different colours of the same size but every pair fit differently. They were such good jeans before

I've been buying M&S jeans for a few years now. I wear the straight ones, but there are many styles.
Reasonable price, great quality.
