I am considering buying this outfit for an upcoming holiday to Calfornia. I am 5'2 ( they do the trousers in petite) and 7st 8. I am wondering what the fashionable on here think? Petite

The link doesn't work

Fashionnamechange · 12/03/2023 18:42

Petite

Is this link better @FayCarew ?

It is reminiscent of the Gabriela Hearst spring/summer collection, white, black, gold and sheer fabrics.
You are petite so the shoulder details won't over bulk you, I think it's a decent casual outfit.
What accessories?

FurAndFeathers · 12/03/2023 18:50

It’s a pretty average outfit - smart trousers and a plain top. Looks like office wear. Totally fine, very functional. Nothing to get excited about.

RampantIvy · 12/03/2023 18:50

I'm not fashionable, but I have been to California. Unless you are going somewhere that requires very smart clothes you will find that people dress far moare casually than the model in the link.

GoodChat · 12/03/2023 18:50

That's incredibly boring and won't you be too hot in California?

minidancer · 12/03/2023 18:53

When I went everyone was in gym stuff but I like the outfit if you are looking for something smarter to wear

Fashionnamechange · 12/03/2023 18:54

It's San Francisco @GoodChat so it won't be very warm. I'm not sure about accessories yet @TomatoSandwiches .

Thanks. I'm not keen on it. The model is wearing size S and is 5'11.5"

Fashionnamechange · 12/03/2023 19:08

I have tried it on in the store and it fits really well @FayCarew. I just thought I'd have a second opinion or two. Obviously it's not a hit.

The top would look better with white/camel flared trousers, they have some on the petite section.
Max Mara have a gorgeous gold ankle length skirt which would turn this into a soft casual evening look imo.

Fashionnamechange · 12/03/2023 19:10

Thank you @TomatoSandwiches , I'll have a look.

San Francisco can be quite chilly. We went at the beginning of August and it was very definitely jacket weather.

A gold ankle length skirt might look a little out of place there. Californians really don't dress up very much unless there is a special occasion.

Camel flared trousers are a good idea. They'd look nice with that too.

Fashionnamechange · 12/03/2023 19:34

I was also considering this because I already have the trousers. Petite

FayCarew · 12/03/2023 19:47

That one is nice.

FayCarew · 12/03/2023 19:50

It was the white top with black trousers that probably put me off with the first one. If you tried it on and it fits and you like it, that's what matters.

Fashionnamechange · 12/03/2023 19:52

The trousers are navy @FayCarew .I think they look darker in the picture.

I love both tops. Would look great on a petite frame.

Shitfather · 12/03/2023 19:57

2nd is more stylish.

Motorina · 12/03/2023 20:09

The second one is both more interesting and easier to wear a bra with.

Fashionnamechange · 12/03/2023 20:45

Thank you all . Yes, @Usernamen they did fit my frame very well even though the tops are not petite. They wouldn't need alterations which is unusual for me.

Really like the second top!
