Swimsuits for a size 20

Hi, I'm looking for a new swimsuit. I'm on the larger side and have terrible varicose veins so usually shy away from the pool but we're off to Center Parcs soon so needs must! Any advice on where I can look online for nice swimsuits for a size 20? Thanks.

I got mine from Sainsbury’s it was a really nice fit. Also enjoy swimming 🏊‍♀️

Have a look at Next, they always have some nice flattering styles in.

Deakin and Blue swimsuits are fab

Size 18 with dreadful legs and awkward long body Best was a plain black ruched one from Matalan. Hate swimming costumes in general but i actually like this one. I'll try and link it.

I got one from Yours (online). Also simply be have quite a lot and you can choose either standard or long body length.

Lands end are great and they do a long version which I love. A very practical swim suit rather than glam but very comfortable.

TheVanguardSix · 12/03/2023 08:12

I’m not the same size but I’m covered in varicose veins. I hate it.
But I get board shorts and swim tops from Lands End (they are great at larger sizes).
My mum is a 20 and I found JD Williams a great place to find her nice swimwear. Board shorts are your friend!

I second Deakin and Blue
Lovely suits

I've got a nice one from Yours clothing, it's got a dress over the top with drawstrings up the side, so you can either wear it long (it falls about half way down my thigh - I'm 5ft 7) or you can pull the drawstrings tight so it becomes more like a tankini top.

Only downside, I feel it could be more supportive in the boob dept. The straps aren't the best

Me too! Got two, great price and seem good quality. I also got one from Landsend but needed a larger size!

I like Molke - very good boob support!

Cupshe are really inclusive and not horrendously expensive

I like the 'Tummy control swimsuit' in Next. Flattering cross over top with decent support and padding, and slightly ruched over stomach. Comes in a variety of colours and patterns. Just bought my second (size 18).

I used to love these, they’ve gone down hill recently, I bought a new one at the end of last year and it’s no where near as supportive.

I got a nice size 22 one from Tesco last week. Black with white trim and a zip detail on the bust.

I started another thread on nice tankinis, and someone kindly sent me to the Deakin & Blue website. Which is full of normal looking women of various sizes and ages, all looking as if they are enjoying themselves! They have a variety of cup sizes and go up to a large size overall, and they also provide some quite detailed instructions about how to measure yourself, which is really useful. Although I think of myself as a size 16, I followed their measuring, and came out as a size 18. I have just ordered their tankini and bikini bottoms, and am looking forward to see how they fit when they arrive. They're not cheap, but if I carry on wearing it for the next 10 years, it'll be worth it!
