Thermal Gloves!!!

I have chilblains on my fingers, I get them every winter, admittedly I do wear just the cheapo £1 gloves from poundshop, but it’s been a particularly bad winter for my hands, any recommendations for a pair of decent thermal gloves? Not too bulky or £££

I find leather gloves much warmer, often get some from the charity shops.

Outdoors shops or ski shops for silk inner gloves, then a pair of lined leather gloves, not very tight, to allow the ‘two layers’ to work. You can also get hand warmers for a few quid that last several hours and you can reuse many times.

I have got some amazing ones from mountain warehouse which were in the sale, but any waterproof ski gloves would do. Much better than the leather ones which I do wear occasionally but they don’t seem to warm up your hands so once they’re cold they’re cold if that makes sense

Agreed! I have Raynauds and feel like I’ve tried every glove going but always come back to leather as I find they keep out the chill out.

Silk inner gloves and then a pair of ski mittens over the top rather than gloves.

I've got a pair of Thinsulate ones which are good but they're a bit old and wrecked now.

Netcam · 09/03/2023 22:29

Sheepskin, I have a pair I got from John Lewis about 20 years ago that are still looking great and are warmer than any other gloves I've tried. They are quite slimline and shearling lined but so warm.

I fully agree with leather gloves , I posted on here a few weeks ago because I thought I'd lost mine and was looking for a replacement pair . I ended up buying two non leather pair and about 3 days later found my leather ones , I was so happy !

Exactly like @Netcam i have sheepskin gloves from John Lewis - picked them up in the sale for a steal about five years ago and they are perfect. We have about four inches of snow at the moment and I dug them out last night.
