Translucent loose face powder

Does anybody know of any translucent powder that is truly translucent. I'm fed up with wasting money and having pots of unusable powder laying around that says translucent but isn't.
All time favourite was Corn Silk but as that's discontinued I'm stuck.
I either look like a ghost or like I've spent 6 months in the sun with the ones I've got.
I've tried, Coty, No 7 and Collection....what next pls?

Take a look but Laura Mercier....

TourmalineGiraffe · 09/03/2023 19:39

Yep, Laura Mercier

Hotvimto3 · 09/03/2023 19:40

Laura mercier best one. Lasts ages too

DarkDarkNight · 09/03/2023 19:50

For a more budget option I have used these ones before. They are all very fine and white, they disappear and are not chalky and don’t make your face very pale.

All based on similar ones from Mac/Nars/Laura Mercier rather than an old fashioned formula.

Another one for Laura Mercier! Expensive but lasts ages. I put it on my Christmas list!

mynameiscalypso · 09/03/2023 20:04

I use Laura Mercier as a rule but have the NYX one that PP linked to in my bag for emergencies- it's fine although doesn't last as long as Laura Mercier. Although the LM one is expensive, a tub does seem to last me a long time.

sarahh96 · 09/03/2023 20:12

@DarkDarkNight oooh thank you, they're my budget, will look. Would love to try LM but bit pricey for me

Laura Mercier as PP, also REFY!

HyacinthineMacaw · 09/03/2023 20:19

I’ve finally found a foundation pale enough for my deathly skin, and ‘translucent’ powders all now seem to have way too much colour, so I have started using the Maybelline Lasting Fix that PP screenshotted, and it’s fabulous - just enough mattifying but very fine and doesn’t really show at all. Highly recommended!

Which Laura Mercier powder are people recommending - the setting powder or the translucent powder, or are they the same thing?

TheYearOfSmallThings · 09/03/2023 20:28

I've used Rimmel loose powder for years - I find it really good.

oceanbleu · 09/03/2023 20:35

ByTerry is my favourite

loganfuckingroy · 09/03/2023 20:39

Charlotte Tilbury airbrush brightening flawless filter. With a Trigwell powder puff

Farmageddon · 09/03/2023 20:42

A warning about the Laura Mercier loose powder - I found it had a yellowish undertone, which did not suit my skin at all.

I've used both the ultra blurr one (fantastic!) and the loose setting powder - both in the "translucent" shade. I'm super pale and find they work well, but I have neutral undertones.

manontroppo · 09/03/2023 21:37

I use Make Up Forever HD powder. Lasts forever.

PumpkinSpicedTea · 09/03/2023 22:06

Another vote for Rimmel and I have very fair skin.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 09/03/2023 22:38

Not a budget option but the By Terry one is my favourite. I currently have a Fenty one and it’s okay, but pressed rather than loose.

OldTinHat · 09/03/2023 22:42

Just here to say that I loved Corn Silk and used it from when I was 14 - am 51 now and still haven't found a decent replacement so am following...!

Sunshine389 · 09/03/2023 22:43

Soap and glory - one heck of a blot is amazing

RausageSoul · 09/03/2023 22:55

HUDA beauty loose powder is the one.

Appleblum · 10/03/2023 02:00

Laura Mercier.

Coffeepot72 · 10/03/2023 05:57

I also used Corn Silk powder, I was devastated when it was discontinued! I now use Laura Mercier translucent loose powder.
