Would this hair dye work?

My hair is currently dyed a very dark brown. I’m wanting it more of a reddish/burgundy colour. I don’t want to have to bleach it first & wonder if this will give it the tone I’m after?

Depends how dark your hair is

Very dark brown (not black) dyed though not natural.

The number 4 on the hair dye signifies the level of colour, so it's dark brown. If the colour you've previously used on your hair is a 3 or lower then the colour will struggle to take, tint will not lift tint. If you've used a 4 previously on your hair then the burgundy red may take on your hair. Can you do a strand test?
