Help finding a 'party' dress

I'm going to a 50th birthday party soon and need help finding something to wear! It's an evening do - booked room in a city bar.

I'm late 40s, 5'2" and size 8-10. However the shops are full of midi dresses which make me look awful! Same for wide leg trousers.

Ideally I'd like some sort of smart mini dress to wear with opaque tights. Not body con but can be fitted ish. Budget up to £100 ish. Any inspiration???

Thanks all. Think I need something that looks OK with black opaques. Any thoughts on these? Do wonder if mini/ sequins are a bit too young?? (I know any age can wear anything, but you know what I mean). I've looked on vinted as I think there must be enough sequined dresses in the world, but all the sellers are clearly very young!
