How often do you wear your pjs before they go in the wash?

Maybe not the right place to put this question but I couldn't find a better category.

How often do you wear your pjs before they go in the wash? I think I go for about 2 days before washing, but curious to know if this is normal?

Twice, no knickers.

WeWereInParis · 07/03/2023 21:51

Weekly, unless it's really hot in summer, then more frequently.

NomadicSpirit · 07/03/2023 21:52

A week.

I was going to feel like I'm repulsive for this, but I discovered today that the CEO of Levi has not washed his jeans in ten years and the company recommends no more than once a month washing jeans, so I don't feel so bad.

Susurrar · 07/03/2023 21:57

I’m a sweaty sleeper, I can only wear a thin vest top and shorts/knickers for bed. They get washed daily. Strangely, I sweat even more if I’m naked under the duvet.
Pyjamas are worn as loungewear (over the aforementioned vest top and knickers) so they get worn 2-3 times before washing. I shower every night and morning too because I’m sweaty as fuck 😂

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 07/03/2023 21:57

I sleep in my pelt and it does away with any of this extra labour.

Really could not be fucked washing 7 pairs of pyjamas a week, just for me. Ain't no one got time for that!

HollaHolla · 07/03/2023 21:57

Once or twice. But I’m a sweaty, menopausal mess. Sometimes I do get up and change at 2am - but only if I’m uncomfortably damp.

I change the sheets mainly every Sunday, so I always get clean pjs that night, no matter what. Can’t wear dirty pjs in a clean bed ! 🤣

AreMyDucksinarow · 07/03/2023 21:58

Once or twice a week, depending on how sweaty I have been, it’s been quite cold here recently so have gotten my thick fluffy ones out again!

In the summer I sleep in a vest top & knickers in winters it full blown pj’s

Nothing beats clean bed sheets and clean pjs, has to be one of the best things in the world, I look forward to bed every Sunday!

OfMark87 · 07/03/2023 21:58

Change them every day but don't wear knickers underneath.

I'm a sweaty sleeper too so they stink 😂

OooohAhhhh · 07/03/2023 22:12

After around 4 days - a week. I breastfeed in the night, so they end up with leaky patches on them, so I don't see the point in changing them too often for the same thing to happen again!

HotSauceCommittee · 07/03/2023 22:30

When they start to smell of weasels.

IreallyLikeCrisps · 07/03/2023 22:35

Who cares?

Just do what your comfortable with.

Don't they absolutely reek though? I normally change mine every 3-4 days but when I was breastfeeding it was daily because the dried leaked milk smelled awful.

riotlady · 07/03/2023 22:54

About 2 nights for tops, 4 for bottoms (cba making sure my pjs match!). If I’m not showering at night sometimes I’ll just sleep in the t shirt I’ve worn during the day

SpringyChicken · 07/03/2023 23:01

What's interesting is the variety of answers. I'm assuming the daily changers must think the 4 dayers are stinkers but conversely the 4 dayers are presumably not very sweaty and likely wondering who has the time and energy for all that washing.

Geneticsbunny · 07/03/2023 23:09

Surely if you don't wear pyjamas/ nightie, then you have to wash your bedding more regularly?

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 07/03/2023 23:16

I don't wear pyjamas and I change my sheets once a week. I'm not a very sweaty or leaky person and I'm not sitting about obsessing about germs.

frogface69 · 07/03/2023 23:43

Nighties are changed about every 3 days. Pyjamas more often, it depends how hot it is. I don't like sleeping naked.

MrsMiddleMother · 08/03/2023 00:12

2 nights sometimes wear the bottoms for a 3rd with an odd top

Wazzzzzuuuuuuup · 08/03/2023 00:41

2 nights. I like fresh clothes and this feels like a compromise

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 08/03/2023 00:43

The only times I've ever worn anything in bed was when I was weaning co-sleeping babies off breastfeeding.

Can't stand wearing anything in bed.

Otherwise I put pjs on when I get up, and sit in them for a couple of hours before I'm ready to get dressed.

I wear the same ones for enough days to not know how many days it is!

Emptycrackedcup · 08/03/2023 00:53

Usually a week, then wash hair, PJs and sheets all on the same day so everything is "fresh"

Ponderingwindow · 08/03/2023 01:56

i always shower right before fresh pajamas. I’m still likely to get a rash if I try to wear them more than once. Same with any article of clothing. I have ridiculously reactive skin.

StrawHatOnTheParcelShelf · 08/03/2023 03:29

I sleep in cotton knickers (1 wear) and some kind of soft bra/top (2 wears unless I've kept it on for all of the next day).

Theoldwoman · 08/03/2023 04:12

Once.

Theres nothing like a shower or bath last thing, putting on clean pjs and hopping into bed!

sunshinepleasecome · 08/03/2023 09:33

Two nights. I wear my PJs for about 12 hours a night so 24 hours of wear seems about right. Plus I sweat during the night.
