Ok so I have been lead grey/ silver for ever. Back of my head is a bit more salt and pepper. Just fed up with colour, it makes me look like an old mum. Is there such a thing as whole head coverage for greys. Cant afford to spend at hairdressers every 5/6 weeks. Don’t want to go dark just a bit blonde but not look like I smoke 60 a day. Is there such a product?…

I dye my roots with the Nutritint range from Holland Barrett (7N and 7G - dark blond neutral and dark blonde golden) every 3 weeks at home (with a brush and bowl to mix it in).

I leave it on about an hour and it does cover greys but you need to strip your hair first (use a shampoo with sulphates and no conditioner/products) then blast it dry a bit to open the cuticles before dyeing.

I am a bit wary of putting all the other box dyes out there on my scalp as they are full of chemicals. However, I reckon they probably dye greys a bit better.

The 6N and 6G are lovely colours too and dye greys a bit better than the 7N and G.

Its all a bit of a faff but needs doing so regularly (otherwise I look like a badger 😉) that it works out quite cost effective.
