Switching to spring wardrobe

Interested to know when are you planning to switch out your winter clothes for your spring ones?

Well it's going to be minus three degrees here on Tuesday ( Ireland) so the woolies and thermals still on the go for a while yet!

Reddahlias · 05/03/2023 19:55

I'm also still wearing thermals under my clothes!

LimeCheesecake · 05/03/2023 19:56

Snow/sleet predicted for next week so might hold off..

Reddahlias · 05/03/2023 19:58

When it does get warmer I'll slowly remove thermal layers from under my clothes, but the next week or so is still forecast to be very cold 🥶

WaggyTailsWetNoses · 05/03/2023 20:10

Not this week! I’m currently sporting a cashmere jumper and my skiing long johns.

We are off to Spain at the beginning of April so I’ll dig summery stuff out then and keep it out. Winter dresses and skirts will be out away but I’ll keep the sweaters out to wear with jeans in case of a chilly spell.

TheOGCCL · 05/03/2023 20:34

Easter ish I’d say. But really depends on the weather.

verdantverdure · 05/03/2023 20:40

Two weeks ago I had an urge for more summery things but this week I've been fully wintered up including scarf and hat.

I generally do my change over at the end of the Spring term when I'm off with the children for Easter.

However throughout March I've usually started moving things that are "too wintery" out of the wardrobe.

Not this year though. Brrr!

Mamette · 05/03/2023 20:42

May probably.

dudsville · 05/03/2023 20:50

Ah, the stages of transition! For me there's a cut off of the temp being reliably, minimum/stable10 degrees that means i can put the winter coat and boots away. But scarves and mittens stick around longer, tights and the lesser cold weather boots are the last to go. There's that sweet spot for me where boots, tights, skirt and jumper is a comfortable outfit without the encumbrance of the coat mittens, scarf and hat. That always feels so freeing after winter.

Reddahlias · 05/03/2023 21:15

Unfortunately the UK never gets consistently warm enough to so away with thermals and wool jumpers ... unlike the Mediterranean countries!

BHRK · 13/03/2023 13:34

Usually like to do this in April, when it feels like it’s warming up

Precipice · 13/03/2023 18:02

Depends on the weather, how else? I have already worn some lighter jackets in 2023, but now it's swung back to colder temps. Had snow fall on me this weekend.

Vicliz24 · 13/03/2023 18:04

I never do it before the end of April and often find myself hunting out Willy jumpers in May .

Vicliz24 · 13/03/2023 18:05

Woolly obviously 😀

Niftythrifter · 13/03/2023 18:10

It’s cold and rainy so it’ll be a while.
