What do you treat yourself to when your losing weight?

Hi all,
I'm in the process of losing weight and hope to be at goal by the summer.
I don't want to buy new clothes until I reach my goal. I've already treated my self to new perfume.
If this is you, do you save the money for a new summer wardrobe or do you treat yourself along the way?
What do you spend money on?

Candles and magazines for me. I also treated myself to a pukka tea selection.

Thank you for the great suggestion.
A magazine and a new candle have been purchased! 😊

A nice bubble bath!

AHelpfulHand · 05/03/2023 12:45

You will need to buy clothes after a certain amount of weight loss as you won’t be able to wear trousers 3 sizes too big for example.

I would avoid using food as a treat and would stick to non food treat items.

I would go for new make up bits, a posh bubble bath etc

iloveburmese3 · 05/03/2023 12:45

Handbags or shoes!!

Mumof1andacat · 05/03/2023 12:47

Charity shop rummage! You will need some clothes for the in-between until you get to where you want to be.

Crikeyalmightey · 05/03/2023 12:59

Shoes, accessories like nice earrings or necklace (usually from next) toiletries.

ItsNotUnusualToBe · 05/03/2023 13:02

Skincare
time - an afternoon off to spent time wasting time
accessories- scarf, necklace, bracelet
new mugs / plates / napkins.

Niftythrifter · 05/03/2023 13:10

Agree with a charity shop rummage! The charity shops did well out of me when I donated lots of clothes that I had bought new whilst losing weight.

If you like Zara then the British Red Cross shops get past season Zara donated by the company themself so you could get yourself some new pieces that won’t cost the earth ( but not cheap either) and enjoy your new ( and progressing) body whilst you are still in the process.

If you have a college near you that does hair and beauty etc then they will probably have a training salon where you could treat yourself to a new hair do and beauty treatments on the cheap!

If you are losing quite a lot of weight, wait until you've lost it before buying new shoes.

Flightcrewstew78 · 05/03/2023 14:00

Craft supplies … paints and fabric. This also has the advantage that using them takes your mind off eating!

Flightcrewstew78 · 05/03/2023 14:01

Oh yes nice products for bath and hair.

SunsetStrip · 05/03/2023 14:07

Water Bottles (you need to drink lots when losing weight, you need to drink out if something beautiful

I'm losing weight too OP and it sounds silly but I'm really enjoying buying lovely fresh food as I'm cooking so much more. Something about popping to the shops for fresh herbs and berries makes me feel so good!

I make iced coffee every afternoon after work and drink if from my large crystal gin glass and it's surprising uplifting! I also have lovely dinnerware to present my meals and beautiful little bowls for a serving of berries. It sounds a bit sad but if I'm going to focus on eating well I might as well make it beautiful!

I have also recently purchased a hair mask, oil, microfiber head towel and satin pillow case. I think eating better has me wanting to look after myself in lots of ways now - it's quite addictive!

ThePreacherLikesTheCold · 05/03/2023 15:47

Oh and as PP mentioned, a nice water bottle! I'm wanting a new fancy lunch bag next. I invested in some decent wireless headphones to use whilst walking/exercising. Would that be something you're interested in?

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 05/03/2023 18:35

Necklaces from charity shops and H&M nail polish.

LilCat · 05/03/2023 18:40

I saved up for cosmetic and dental procedures and bought real gold jewellery.

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 05/03/2023 20:10

Great ideas here! Thank you so much
I love the idea of making meals special and nice food/drink containers.
I have bought a new fancy bronzer and will look into nice skincare and jewellery next! 😊

I recently went down 3 dress sizes.
Before I started I decided on the size I wanted to be and bought clothes in that size and looked at them everyday for months.
Seeing myself wearing them in the mirror when they finally fitted was the best reward ever for the weight loss once I'd achieved it.
Well that's what worked for me anyway.

ladygindiva · 05/03/2023 20:18

Stuff that's not size dependant eg jewellery, sunglasses, shoes.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 05/03/2023 20:27

Really nice food from M&S. They used to do a great chocolatey mousse pudding thing for a about 130 calories.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 05/03/2023 20:34

This sounds silly but Doizy and Daim chocolate (their coloured buttons are nice), Pop Chips, etc eg still treat food but better for you. I feel better having those and have managed to wean myself off the Weightwatchers and Skinny Whip bars.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 05/03/2023 20:49

I've had to buy some clothes but I've bought clothes that will look ok as I lose more weight. I usually buy make up or earrings.

frostyfeb · 05/03/2023 20:55

Make up or accessories like earrings , scarf's bags
