Advice for covering grey roots

I have dark brown hair (half still brown, half dyed).
Too expensive to get the roots touched up in the hairdresser.
What products work? I have hair mascara but I find it quite sticky

L’Oreal root touch up.

The spray, not the mascara.

I buy dye and just use half the pack on the roots. Leave the other half unmixed until I need it.

I use Clairol (Nice 'n Easy) root touch up and find it extremely helpful for keeping on top of grey roots.

Yup, this is good stuff. I'm so gray I'm blonde now but when I had dark greying hair this was essential.

How best to cover grey hairs http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/styleandd_beauty/4747425-how-best-to-cover-grey-hairs

I prefer powder. I've got a Clairol one. Blends the greys in well enough and no stickiness.

And I dye it myself at home so very cheap!

I use Casting (I think that L'Oréal). Covers my very grey (white actually) roots. Have light brown hair and even though that's the colour on the box, it's more of a mid brown.

Thank you everyone, I will follow up on those suggestions ☺️
