Recommendations for jewellery for beach/pool

Going on a beach holiday for the first time in ages and would like to get hold of some of the ‘understated, fine gold jewellery’ often listed on here under how to look stylish on holiday threads.

do you need special jewellery that won’t go off in water/sand? I’d like a bar stud earring and a just above cleavage length simple necklace, any recommendations much appreciated!

Why would you want to wear jewellery on the beach? Confused

Notcontent · 04/03/2023 12:30

😆

If you must, avoid anything that will go rusty!!!

Ellielelephant · 04/03/2023 12:48

But how do I know it won’t go rusty lol 😂 that’s why I’m asking for recommendations

@PacificallyRequested I have been spending too much time on MN S&B, Pinterest and Insta and getting wild ideas

I'd wear cheap costume jewellery that you won't miss when it falls off and gets washed away in the salt water, like the stuff they used to sell on cardboard in New Look, Next etc (no idea if they still do, not been in one for years). Or you could wear no jewellery to be on the safe side. It's really too easy to lose jewellery at the beach.

My daughter lost her amber ring on a beach holiday.

I'd get some obviously plastic stuff, depending on where you're going locals in some areas have been known to mug people for their jewellery.

a lot of shops do 'watersafe' jewellery, solace, staccdbynicci, bohomoon.

think it's usually stainless steel with a coating, both silver and gold coloured

thanks for the tips, some of these look ideal 👍

I wear gold on holiday - the same jewellery I wear daily anyway: a diamond pendant on a gold chain and another simple gold chain. Touch wood, I’ve never lost them and I’m sure I’ve no more chance on the beach than in the gym or anywhere else! Simple gold hoops and a couple of gold bracelets too. Gold won’t discolour or get ruined even in chlorinated water whereas I’m yet to find a plated metal that lasts!
