Black or Brown Boots with this coat?

Hello lovely S&B ladies. I'm planning a very capsule wardrobe for a couple of nights away, most of what I'm taking seems to lean towards my brown flat knee high boots, but my coat is a similar colour/style to this one and I can't picture if my black ones would be better?

There'll be some 'day to night' in a city so I'm relying on my coat to provide the smart element of otherwise comfortable functional outfits (dark blue jeans, fine knit jumpers). Therefore can't compromise on the coat. My parka doesn't give the same 'sweeping elegantly into a bar' effect 

There's a chance I'm over-thinking this.

Brown and blue go together well, so I think definitely the brown boots rather than black.

If your coat has black buttons like the one in the picture, black.

Either. If the coat had black buttons, then black boots, but with blue buttons, either will be fine. Personally I think black and blue would be smarter.

Sorry, the picture isn't exactly my coat, it's just a Google search for similar. I searched 'blue swing coat' if anyone wants to track it down!

Mine was from House of Fraser I think but a good while ago now.

You could wear either colour 😉
