Medik8 c-tetra

Hello,

I have been using c-tetra for a while of and really like it although I can't compare it to any alternative products other than superdrug (not comparable from my pov). However price seems to keep going up and it now costs over £40! I consume a bottle every 2.5 months approximately. My question is, do you suggest I stick with it, or shall I try other less expensive alternatives? If so which ones?

Thanks!

I've been using Skinceuticals Vitamin C serums, like Silymarin/Phloretin for ages... but they use L ascorbic acid - and actually, the form of vitamin C in the C-Tetra seems much better priced & uses a more stable form of vitamin C.
I think I'll switch! Skinceuticals is priced above £90...
Failing any better priced recommendations - suggest you just scout around for discount offers.

I love c-tetra too. Face the future sometimes have discounts on medik8. I buy then/ when there’s offers on.

a few people on here and a blogger I like suggested glow and gorgeous. I’ve not tried it yet but I might next. I have a biossance rose vit c oil to try first.

By the way, my sister hated c tetra which I was surprised by. Turns out not everyone loves it! so you might get it as an unwanted on vinted etc.

Face the future have discounted medik 8 at the moment. I almost never pay full price for it.
It's the only vitC I like and I've tried a few.

EverybodysALebowski · 02/03/2023 08:13

That sounds to me like you're using it really quickly. Are you using it twice a day, and if so can you just use once a day? Are you using more than the recommended amount?

Lottapianos · 02/03/2023 08:27

I liked C-Tetra but have had even better results from Revolution 20% Vit C serum for a fraction of the price

botemp · 02/03/2023 08:33

Yeah the ingredient for C tetra is expensive. Garden of Wisdom C glow is around half price of Medik8 which is quite expensive for GOW serums. I'm not sure, you'd have to check I think the GOW is a lower concentration.

botemp · 02/03/2023 08:35

Sorry, if that's not clear, GOW C glow is also a tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate based serum, like Medik8.

Bedofroses85 · 02/03/2023 10:39

Hi, thanks all so much,
i’ll have a look at Glow, Revolution, GOW and the discount website.

re usage, I use in face and chest area only in the morning and it absorbs completely in a few minutes before adding more products.. so I don’t think I’m putting on too much?

Yes, if you're also using on your chest I can see where it would get used faster even when using the correct amount. So that's not the issue.

You might also keep an eye out for general 20% off specials on Sephora and Cult Beauty, as they come up regularly and Medik8 is usually included. I love their stuff too but try to avoid paying full price.

Bedofroses85 · 02/03/2023 11:27

Thanks EverybodysA, I’ll have a look at those, as typically I just order all my beauty products through Amazon snd that’s only going one way price wise!

I wasn’t dazzled at all medik8 c tetra. I got the bottle in a gwp or kit. I’ve recently
had a small bottle of Dennis gross vit c and have been impressed with that although couldn’t justify full price. Now using a sample bottle of the skinceuticals silymarin which is great too. Again couldn’t justify buying. Will probably just return to balance me vit c which is great and reasonably priced. Plus I have two
unused bottles to get through.
